Hi,
I'm trying to create macros for an excel sheet, where i have different actions required for different tasks, each action has its own individual time, I place a "X" in the cell underneath each action and sum up all cells containing an "X" at the end.
So that when I place an X in say 4 cells and each cell will be related to a time in seconds or minutes, how can I add these 4 values and display the total time these actions would require?
The tasks are going down in column and the actions are going across the rows.
As I have not had a lot of experience with VB can anyone suggest a possible method for this,
I tried using simple IF statements eg, =if(B4=="X",AA4 ,) where i was placing the time in cell AA4, but as I have well over 100 tasks this could get v. messy!
and I dont know how to link a cell to a time value where the X is placed.
Any help would be appreciated.
Derek

My Excel VBA syntax is a bit rusty. But in concept, you should be able to use a loop to go down the column with the Xs, and for each one you hit, use the Offset() function to pick up the corresponding time value.

Hi guys
I have a time critical process, running on a worker thread. By "time
critical", I mean that certain parts of the process must be completed in a
specific time frame. The time when the process starts is not especially
important, but it must be complete within a small number of seconds.
The operations I am performing do not take a long time (hundreds of
milliseconds), but as each part of the process is complete, my worker thread...

I am trying to duplicate the printing of a shortcut-print of an access

very easily by right-clicking on a shortcut to the access report and
then selecting print.
I tried placing the following in the scheduled task, but the ms access

Does this sound familliar to anyone?
Regardless of the fact that you have been programming in Access for umpteen
years, you still are overly optimistic when it comes to estimating time.
The client gives you a requirement that is "obviously just another form", and
your brain does a quick calculation, saying that should take 1 to 2 hours.
You know you tend to be optimistic, so you double the average of that, and
call it 3 hours.

I have a database that I am using as a Time clock where employees can
clock in and out. Is there a way to make it so that when they clock
out a form would open displaying their work day hour by hour with combo
boxes next to each hour that they could select what task they did for
the coorisponding hour. For example: lets say the clock in field says
"7/5/2006 11:00:00 AM" and the clock out field is "7/5/2006 8:00:00
PM." Once they clock out...

Hi all,
how do I avoid typing the keyword "$this->" every time I need to
reference a member of a class inside the class?
(coming from a world of cozy auto-complete enabled Java / .Net IDEs I
find it a bit annoying)
TIA,

I need to be able to figure out how many minutes it takes an employee to perform a set of tasks.
My employees always start thier job at 5AM and complete, say 20 tasks by 7AM, then move to another set of tasks that get completed by say 825AM.
My database already records the number of tasks as a sum. And the time they COMPLETETED the task.
So my reports print out with the employee name, the number of tasks and the time they completed...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...
