Two programs working on a same control

1 New Member
Hello,
From a main program drawing on a PictureBox, i would like to call a second program (.exe) wich could design on the same PictureBox. I'd try this:

Main:
Private Sub Form_Load()
Picture1.Line (100, 100)-(3000, 3000), vbBlue, B
l& = Picture1.hDC
RetVal = Shell("Projet2. exe " & Str$(l&), 1)
End Sub

Second:
Private Declare Function Polygon Lib "gdi32" (ByVal hdc As Long, lpPoint As POINTAPI, ByVal nCount As Long) As Long
Private Type POINTAPI
x As Long
y As Long
End Type
Private Sub Form_Load()
a$ = Command()
l& = CLng(Val(a$))
typ& = 4
ReDim lppoints(typ& - 1) As POINTAPI
lppoints(0).x = 200: lppoints(0).y = 200
lppoints(1).x = 200: lppoints(1).y = 2000
lppoints(2).x = 2000: lppoints(2).y = 2000
lppoints(3).x = 2000: lppoints(3).y = 200
Res& = Polygon(l&, lppoints(0), typ&)
End
End Sub

... but it does'nt work!
did someone get an idea?

I looking for a source (book, on line tutorial, etc.) that will introduce me to writing programs that control my computer. For example, a program that enters bids on eBay automatically. Or a program that reads and operates on data from a website. Another example: calculating and reporting the amount of time the computer spends on a task. Where can I acquire the basic knowledge to commence working on these types of programs?

I have some programs running on Red Hat Linux 7.3 working with IBM DB2 V6.1 (with all the FixPacks) on my old machine. I have just installed IBM DB2 V8.1 on this (new) machine running Red Hat Enterplise Linux 3 ES, and applied FixPack fp5_mi00069.tar to it. After creating an instance, starting the database, creating a database, and entering the table definitions, all of which seems to work OK, I entered a tiny 8-row table and can do...

Hi, We just executed a project with Python using TG. The feedback was to use more python like programming rather than C style code executed in Python. The feedback is from a Python purist and for some reasons we cannot solicity his help. So we'd like to do is to scrub through the codebase and identify places where the codebase needs improvement, both from styling as well as design. Is there any website that can provide me with...

X-No-Archive: Are there any good books that provide tips about how to understand and "play with" large C++ programs? It seems like a very important skill, and yet its hardly taught in the universities. Basic programming skills and knowledge of language constructs don't seem enough for understanding larger programs.

Hello all, I am using 'Valgrind' to fix the memory leaks of my programs. I am looking for other programs to see how they are detecting the problems. Does any of you have experience in working with othere programs? Please let me know if you feel the program that you are working with is a good tool to detect the memory leaks. Thanks, Mohsen

Hello! Is it possible to use Visual Studio 2005 or, secondarily, Visual Studio .NET 2003 to create ActiveX controls which may be consumed by VB 6.0 programs, i.e. dealt with on forms in the usual way? If yes, may you provide a hint/link for getting started? Best regards,

I want to put all the output from all of my python programs in one place. I've been trying to get this working for the last few days, but there are lots of annoying little details that are making the process quite difficult. I'm wondering if anyone can help me get this working. Currently I have one program called Output_Displayer.py This is a wxPython app that uses the aui tabbed interface. Basically it's just a frame with tabs where...

I am using Windows Vista and I have run scandisk/disk defrag/computer cleanup with various programs so all of that is taken care of for a possible "solution". I looked on various help and resource sites but can't seem to fix my problems! First off, I don't know what is going on with my rar files but I have winrar and 7zip and everything was...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
