I am intersting in developing and my background is VBA used in Excel and a
brief intro to Java.
I am interested in learning beyond VB and feel that C++ would be a very good
language to get to know and give a lot of flexibility (if not tough to learn).
I would like some advice on the merits of learning C++ versus C# or Visual
Basic or Java for that matter.

i'd like to create an application which would run in the background, &
there'd be an icon in the system tray (can use the notify icon).
But HOW can i make the form invisible.
What i'd like to do is, when the exe is run, ONLY the icon should appear in
the system tray & nothing else.
& if necessary the user can click on the icon & there'd be a menu to load
the necessary forms.
How can i do this.

Sometimes I find myself stumbling over Python issues which have to do
with what I perceive as a lack of orthogonality.
For instance, I just wanted to use the index() method on a tuple which
does not work. It only works on lists and strings, for no obvious
reason. Why not on all sequence types?
Or, another example, the index() method has start and end parameters for
lists and strings. The count() method also has start and end parameters...

Hello,
When I create an icon in VB2005 icon editor - 32x32, the figure I draw in
the editor is not displaying on the icon file in the solution explorere, in
windows explorer, on the exe, or on the Form. But the icon figure does
display in the Project Properties Application Tab (for icon), and it displays
in the Alt-Tab window.
How can I make the figure in the icon display on the form, exe, solution
explorer,...?

All,
I wanted to create a browser helper object that has a clickable
icon at the right corner of the browser (similar to the Google notebook
icon at the right corner of the browser). When the user clicks this
icon, it will open a specified URL in a window. I am new to windows
programming. I did some search and found some examples on the internet

I'm using vb.Net in VS2005 and want to extract the icon for file refence
records.
I saw an example a while back that searched the registry for the default
icon etc. It was a little long winded.
I have since discovered "Drawing.Icon.ExtractAssociatedIcon" which can do
the same job in one line of code.

I am trying to create a shortcut icon on Today in window mobile 5.0.
I have a CAB file which will install the program and create the shortcut icon in Today. The CAB file sucessfully install the .exe program and drop the shortcut on the Today folder.
