Hi,
I have an Access application with linked tables via ODBC to MSSQL
server 2000.
Having a weird problem, probably something i've done while not being
aware of (kinda newbie).
the last 20 records (and growing)of a specific table are locked - cant
change them - ("another user is editing these records ... ").

Hi,
We have a situation where we want to move our current database
server to a different hardware and rename the server.
If we change the Physical server name, do we have to go thru the whole
process of changing it in sql server by running sp_dropserver,
sp_addserver?
Can we have an alias for the server name in DNS and can sql server
resolve the server name internally by going thru DNS?
For eg: Our current database server name is...

I'm trying to restore about 70 databases onto a new SQL server and
wanted to script the creation and restore. I've done the creation with
no problems, but on the restore, the logical names (of the original
data) are all over the place and were historically wrong.
So, when I use the script below... I've had to work out the Logical
name for the data and the log file and alter the script accordingly.

Hello:
Say I were to query the schema tables from a database management
system. Say I got a DataType field that held the string 'VARCHAR2'.
Now, I know that VARCHAR2 associates to System.String. However,
different DBMSs have different types and worse, even some with the
same type turn out to be different .NET types.
I would like DMBS-independent way of getting a .NET type from a
DataType string. Now, I have existing code that gets the...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
