How to pass parameters from Visual Basic to SQL Local Package

17 New Member
Good day to all,

My frontend is visual basic and my backend is SQL. I need to pass a date parameter to my DTS Package. What should be my VB syntax?
Here's how I call my DTS package:

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. Private Sub DTSAccess()
  2. Dim objPackage As New Package
  3.
  4.     objPackage.LoadFromSQLServer "SQL2K-VBP", , , DTSSQLStgFlag_UseTrustedConnection, , , , "HRIS_DTSFromAccess"
  5.     objPackage.Execute
  6.
  7. End Sub
Thanks a lot :)

I'm currently experiencing a strange phenomenon: At my Office, Visual Studio takes a very long time to compile our solution (more than 1 minute for the first project). At home, Visual Studio compiles the same solution much faster (about 10 seconds for the first project). My home computer is only marginally faster than the one I have at the office (P4 2.53 vs. P4 2.4, same amount of RAM). On the slow machine, the CPU usage is very low,...

Hi all, I created a DTS package in SQL Server 2000 that creates several stored procedures. I need to run this package as part of an installation program for an application that uses the stored procedures. In the past I saved the DTS package as a Visual Basic file, compiled the Visual Basic file in the Visual Studio 6.0 environment and ran the executable during the installation. I want to do the same thing using Visual Basic in Visual...

I would like to know how I can distribute the application that I create with Visual C++ express edition. I checked the menu options to find a deploy option similar to the one found on the Visual Basic Express Edition but could not find one. I have even searched the help files and could not find anything useful for me. I want to simply package my application so that I may install it on another computer.

Hi, I noticed in Python all function parameters seem to be passed by reference. This means that when I modify the value of a variable of a function, the value of the variable externally from the function is also modified. Sometimes I wish to work with "copies", in that when I pass in an integer variable into a function, I want the function to be modifying a COPY, not the reference. Is this possible?

Hi, I have a simple form. On it is a Text Box that asks for "Username to be entered". It also has a Radio Button that asks if the user needs to be added to the local admin account. I have an external vbs that adds user to local admin account, but how do I pass the vbs the "UserName" that is entered on the form, if also admin radio button is selected?

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
