Hi, I am starting the Word application in Visual Basic. I want my Visual Basic routine to be called when the user closes the document in Word. I am expecting that when the user closes test.doc then the routine myword_close should be run. But it does not work!

Hi, I'm using Microsoft Visual Basic .NET and want to reference the ThisApplication variable but cannot get to it or find the OfficeCodeBehind class. Is this a shortcomming of the fact that I have Microsoft Visual Basic and not Visual Studio .NET? On page: http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dv_wrcore/html/wrgrfapplicationobject.asp I read:

Hi everyone, Now I am using Visual Basic.net to write a program but having some headaches. The situation is as follows: I am using ODBC connection to connect one database( non-SQL server) , which has over 20 tables and each table has lot of fields. My aim is to setup a button, everytime when the button is clicked, the selected tables through the ODBC connection will be copied to a SQL server 2000 ( Both the data and table...

The seventh part of my attempted Correct C++ tutorial is now available, although for now only in Word format (use free Open Office if no Word), and also, it's not yet been reviewed at all -- comments welcome! "Create beginner's programs" <url: http://home.no.net/dubjai/win32cpptut/w32cpptut_01_07.zip> This part focuses on basic techniques and approaches to programming, so it could have been titled "Basic methodologies and...

Hi, I was wondering if expert can give me some lite to convert my word table into access database. Note: within each cell of my word table(s), some has multi-line data in it. In addition, there is one row containing picture(s) as well. So far, what I did is doing it manually for each word docs I have. Select Table Convert Table to Text(I use ^ character for delimiter)

I would like to use the timestamp on files to manage the currency of support files for my VB windows application. In this case I would only put the timestamp of the file in the management database and not the file itself. To do this I will need to have a File class property for Create time and date that will let me "set" the Create time and date of the file to my own chooseing. The VB file class does not appear to have the ability

I am trying to create a DLL in Visual Studio 2005-Visual Basic that contains custom functions. I believe I need to use COM interop to allow VBA code in Excel 2002 to access it. I've studied everything I can find on COM Interop and .NET. I've also tried many of the 'Walkthroughs' on the MSDN site relating to COM add-ins, .NET and Office XP but am unable to get even these working in Excel 2002 or Word 2002. I've installed the Office XP...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
