small project in VB 6.0 file searchinf and comparing

1 New Member
hi
I am naive user to Vb 6.0.
I have 1 small project to do.

There are 4 folders in which there are 500 files in first folder and other three folders may or may not contain 500 files
So aim is to first count the total files in all folder and then it displays it.
all the files that are missed in other three folders.means we have to compare files in first folder with files in other folders as well and then displays th total files missed with their file name

Please suggest something to do it.
Thx in advance

Below is some information I collected from a *small* project in which I wrote a Python version of a Java application. I share this info only as a data point (rather than trying to say this data "proves" something) to consider the next time the "Python makes developers more productive" thread starts up again. Background ========== An employee who left our company had written a log processor we use to read records from text files (1...

I'm trying to quickly grab the dimensions out of the headers of JPEG files. I need to look for the hex string FFC0001108 in a file that will be from 1-40 megs in size. If someone has experience doing a similar type of search, what is the most efficient method you have found for doing this? I can see doing this by comparing the first byte of the string to each consecutive byte of the file until it is found, and then checking for the rest of...

Hello Everybody, We are creating a new project on Virtual Private Networking (VPN), and it is decided to use VC++. I actually want to know that is can be achived by VC#.NET or not. You all know how and what level VPN can reach. If this is possible using C# then what are the main namespaces i should use to which they play a main role of the project. Hope to receive all your valuable responses on this. will be waiting

Is it possible in project settings to set vb.net in such a way so that it considers only upto 3 decimal places when comparing any two values. My problem is: i get varA = -0.0000000000018189894035458565. It actaully should be zero. So when i compare varA = 0 , it returns false (obviously) I can use round(varA) to achieve what i want, but i have to do that every time. Is it possible to set it in project settings.

Hi All, I have an assignment for my Programming language project to create a compiler that takes a C++ file as input and translate it into the C file. Here I have to take care of inheritance and operator overloading and virtual functions. I mean it should not hamper the C++ meaning. In frank and simple terms i need to implement a small C++ compiler in C++, and i want the intermediate representation to be C. Please help me in this....

(The "C++ Grammer" thread in comp.lang.c++.moderated prompted this post). It would be more than a little bit nice if C++ was much "cleaner" (less complex) so that it wasn't a major world wide untaking to create a toolchain for it. Way back when, there used to be something called "Small C". I wonder if the creator(s) of that would want to embark on creating a nice little Small C++ compiler devoid of C++ language features that make...

Hello, I've run as many keyword combinations searching for this as I can think of, but cannot find a simple answer. The situation: I have a database that is mid-conversion/redevelopment. I frequently rebuild my dev copy from the production version, which requires a bunch of DDL script, and then adding in all the stored procedures necessary to the new version only. Each sp may have changed since the last time it was run, so I can't...

What's the preferred (best) way to start a website project in VS 2005? I know of 2 ways and each creates a site differently and has different behavior. Open VS 2005 1) from the start page click on Create, then select asp.net web application. This creates a properties folder and references folder in solution explorer. 2) go to the File menu and select New/Website. this just creates the

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
