[VB.NET] Scaling a picturebox

Going from VB6 to VB.NET i have lost the capability to do the most simple
things...

In VB6 scaling a picturebox was done like this: Me.picturebox.s cale
(0,25)-(25,0)

How is it done in VB.NET ?

All I want to do is draw simple lines and circle in a coordinate system.

Set PictureBox.Size Mode to Normal (the default), AutoSize, CenterImage, or StretchImage. Normal means that the image is placed in the control's upper-left corner; if the image is larger than the control, its lower and right edges are clipped. CenterImage means that the image is centered within the control; if the image is larger than the control, the picture's outside edges are clipped. AutoSize means that the size of the control is adjusted to the size of the image. StretchImage is the reverse, and means that the size of the image is adjusted to the size of the control.

i.e PictureBox1.Siz eMode = PictureBoxSizeM ode.StretchImag e

Almost everybody in this newsgroup is using VB6 or lower. While you may
get a stray answer to VB.NET (including VB2003 and VB2005 which has
dropped .NET from its name) questions here, you should ask them in
newsgroups devoted exclusively to .NET programming. Look for newsgroups
with either the word "dotnet" or "vsnet" in their name.

For the microsoft news server, try these newsgroups...

microsoft.publi c.dotnet.genera l
microsoft.publi c.dotnet.langua ges.vb
microsoft.publi c.vsnet.general

There are some others, but these should get you started.

I have a vb6 application. On the main form is a picture box with one or two images and several pieces of text displayed in it. These are created on the fly using gdi32 routines that are all in a referenced, custom dll. I call a PrintImage routine in the dll and pass it only the the Picturebox.hdc from the main form. The dll's print routine draws to the hdc and it shows up in the picturebox perfectly. I would like to do a similar thing...

I have a usercontrol that contains a picturebox. The user can obtain (creategraphics) a picturebox graphics object and draw on the picturebox. She could do gr.GraphincInit.Millimeter and then draw using millimeters as the measurement. But he would still have to dimension the Picture box using pixels (Clientsize for example). He changes the picture box dimensions via usercontrol properties so I could scale them going in and out. Couple...

Hi, I'm writing a program that based on input will create a document. It is something simulair as a printing example. In MS Word when you click on the shown document you can zoom in and if you click again you'll zoom out again. This is what I would like to do as well. I draw the document in a bitmap, since all the information is drawn from a database and on the form it is shown in a picturebox.

I have written an app in VB2005. This app uses a picturebox that is 256x256 pixels. It looks fine on the PC on which the app was developed. When I run the app on another PC, the picture box looks distorted: it appears elongated vertically, but still is 256x256. How do I scale this picturebox appear square on different PCs?

hi, For my program I have two forms. each has a picturebox on it. The second form is to allow the user to determine where he wants to place a small drawing in an existing drawing. When he is finished, the location of that drawing needs to go to the main form where it will place it on the drawing.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
