Reading CD subchannels with ASPI? - Visual Basic 4 / 5 / 6

I'm trying to read the contents of a cd using VB.Net and would greatly
appreciate a hand with this as I haven't done this sort of app before.

I think i need to utilise aspi and have a pleaxtor scsi cd drive.

I'm ok with the programming, i just need a jump start with aspi (or
similar).

Almost everybody in this newsgroup is using VB6 or lower. While you may
get a stray answer to VB.NET questions here, you should ask them in
newsgroups devoted exclusively to .NET programming. Look for newsgroups
with either the word "dotnet" or "vsnet" in their name.

For the microsoft news server, try these newsgroups...

microsoft.publi c.dotnet.genera l
microsoft.publi c.dotnet.langua ges.vb
microsoft.publi c.vsnet.general

There are some others, but these should get you started.

The following is from a post by Jeff Johnson:

Can anyone advise whether VB 5.0 CCE can do an activex control? i have vb
6.0 but it's the student edition and doesn't have that capability. if i
don't want to upgrade my software is there an online site that can do this
from a vb form that i have created...thank s.

Are you sure ?
Academic editions are normally fully functional

Try: Project/Add UserControl

You can get all the functionality you need from including UserControls
in the project, rather than making them into OCXes
