I've inherited a program that was developed in Visual Studio and I'm
having a problem with build times. The program is about 250,000 lines
and I'm storing the entire project on a network drive. We've got
gigabyte ethernet and it's a high speed raid array but it still takes
about 5
minutes to do the smallest recompile and about 1 hour and 15...

I would like to be able to customize the path structure that VS.NET
2003 creates for projects.
1. I'd like to be able to create a project without VS.NET creating a
folder for that project. I've already created a folder where I want
the project to go, however, VS.NET won't use the existing folder, it
wants to create it's own.
2. I also...

path from the default (i.e. C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\) to some more particular

First - is this the right venue for Visual C# questions?
How do you duplicate a project. So if I have a directory
c:\c#\projects\proj_1
Containing proj_1.sln, proj_1.suo and a subdirectory
c:\c#\projects\proj_1\proj_1 that contains the source etc.
How do I recreate this as proj_2 including the directory

I have a web project which references some assemblies from other projects I
have worked on in different solutions, and am running into some quirky
behavior.
My web project assembly is DND.WebCenter, and references my assembly DND
(function library and common tools). I manually specify the AssemblyVersion
for both of the assemblies, so I...

Hi everyone,
I recently wrote a vb.net app which includes some crystal reports.
The user has very little money in their budget and have been without a
working application for quite a while. This being the case I worked
with what was available: I used vb.net and crystal 8.5. The crystal
reports are being viewed in the crystal report viewer...

Error: The dependency '<my dll>' in project '<my project>' cannot be copied

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then...

I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in...
