Hi,
Under some naming conditions of module files, it seems that python lost
class static variables values.
It seems only to append when importing a "badly" named module that
itself import a module with a static variable in it (looks complex, but
see the example below, pretty simple):
First a working example:
<<<< file: aTest.py

Hi all,
Basically I have a bunch of pluggins in a directory (METDIR). For each
one of these templated pluggins I want to do a specific routine. Let's
start with a basic template

I'm trying to add a class to a module at runtime. I've seen examples
of adding a method to a class, but I haven't been able to suit it to my
needs.
As part of a testsuite, I have a main process X that searches
recursively for python test files. Those files typically have a global
"isSupported" method, in which the file tells the test searcher "do or
do not run me", as well as the typical TestName_TestCase class, with a
testMyTest...

The Me object in A97 HELP is associated with forms.
I've used Me.Name with success in a report's Open
event code successfully. However, I seem to recall
occasions where use of Me in report objects could
present problems. Anyone know more about this subject?

I'm writing a test "modular site". So far I have created an App class,
a Module Manager class and a couple of test modules.
The Manager looks in a directory called 'modules' and then for every
..php file is try to create a class of type <filenameminus the .php, so
eg. for testmodule.php it tries to create a class "testmodule" and puts
it into an array within the module manager called $_modules
Module Manager has a dispatch_message...

Hello,
I have a string which in reality is the name of a module to be
imported. The name of the class contained in the module also has the
same (although with different capitalization). My requirement is to
import the module, and also create an instance of the class. eg:
str = "module" #name of module is "module.py"
cls = str.capitalize() #name of class is "Module"
inst = cls() #create an instance of...

I am trying to dynamically populate the module name in the error
message.
Currently I populate a variable with hardcoded text:
strModuleName = "cmdFlushWorkTables_Click"
Per my code below, is there a way to populate strModulename
dynamically so that all I would need for the error message is the
message line itself? Is there some API call I can make that will
disclose the current module running so that when the error is raised,
that...

We have a situation where we want a Swig-generated Python class to
have a different base (not object). It doesn't appear that we can
coerce Swig into generating the class we want at present (but we are
still enquiring).
Is it possible to dynamically change the base class to something else?
Initial experiments appear to show it is not:

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
