I'm considering using a PHP command line script to retrieve reports from a
Linux system. My only source for the report is via telnet.
Has anybody here used fsockopen() to interactively script a telnet session
in PHP?
If so, what problems did you have to overcome. If not, does this sound
do-able?

Hi
I have been getting statistical rapports from a machine via a
telnet server. Until now it has been done manually. However
I want to automate the proccess, and scedule a PHP script to
run everyday.
Using my terminal, I give the command to order a rapport,
and then press <ESC>. Then the rapport is printed out.

Hello :)
Into group-archive i found most e-mails, which touches PINGing.
In my work i've used TELNET for testing if host is operational.
Sometimes, for unknown reasons, workstation doesn't respond
for PINGing. But in WinNT network, all hosts has a nbsession
listening on port 139. I always use this script instead PING
command (hope, will be usefull for someone :) ):

I've got MySQL running as a service on my Windows 2000 box. And I can
work with it using a command window (DOS box). I used the default
install of MySQL and here's what status says:

Ok, so I'm programming in Unix if that makes any difference. And I'm
doing:
system("telnet somehost.com 25");
But I can't figure out how to send a command to it. Like, for example,
I would like to send the helo command to the smpt port with this telnet
open. Does anyone here know how to? Thanks.
(kinda desired output)

I've Googled until my eyes hurt looking for a way to issue Telnet
commands from C# and cannot find anything but $300 libraries
that encapsulate it for you. I don't want to be able to create a
Telnet client. I just need to send a telnet request to a local IP
address on a LAN issue a "c" then a "b" and stream back the
text for internal use. The "c" changes sub-menus and the "b" is
a switch to dump the status of a firewall. I need to issue...

Howdy,
I recently installed Visual Studio 2005 and I believe since then I cannot
telnet to my local machine on port 25. Furthermore, my .net applications can
no longer send emails through my local machine, or my server for that
matter. I cannot telnet to any other mail servers on port 25, however I can
telnet to my workstation from my server on port 25 with no problem. It
appears something is denying a loopback or turn around? I don't...

Hello,
How do you create/spawn new processes in XP over telnet using python?
I.e. I would like to create a new process and have it running in the
background... when I terminate the telnet connection, I would what the
spawned processes to keep running until I shut it off...
I got the os.popen method to spawn a new process running in the
backgroun, but not over telnet... tried os.popen and also
subprocesses.popen without any luck...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
