Complete newbie question here. I'm a student and have installed a student
licensed version of VB6. The MSDN library/help files are on a seperate disc
but for the life of me I cannot work out how to get it installed. It doesn't
boot up automatically like the VB6 disc and there are no obvious help files
when I explore the disc. 4 13658
After you installed VB 6 and it restarted, did it give you the option to
install MSDN? If you put the 1st VB 6 CD in, it should prompt you to instal
MSDN.

I installed the first disc, which included a whole load of programs that I
didn't need(but installed them anyway), there was no prompt for the second
disc. I had a good look on the second disc for any obvious exe files but
there was nothing which would have installed the MSDN library. VB 6 works
fine but there is obviously an error message displayed when I try to use the
help facility. It's very frustrating because being new to VB, I regularly
need to check the help files but need to wait until I'm in class instead of
doing it at home.
What is the date for the MSDN Library CD's and how many of them do you have?

I'm unsure of the date right now because I've had to return the discs to the
College library. I will hopefully get hold of it again early next week.
There was 1 disc containing VB6 and a whole load of other programs and 1
disc for the MSDN library. This thread has been closed and replies have been disabled. Please start a new discussion. Similar topics |

I have two(2) issues.
I'm experiencing a little difficulty and having to resort to a work around.
I already found one bug, although stated the bug was only in ODBC, which I'm
not using. It appears to be in the OLEDB driver also.
My connection was:
conn.Open "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=" & strPath & ";" &
"Extended Properties='Text;HDR=NO;FMT=Delimited'"

Is there a way to install this onto a network file share and allow a
team to access it? I would say share a CD from a networked CD drive,
but there are multiple CD's that would have to be inserted.
TIA,

Everytime I press the search button in msdn, I feel the need for at least 90
days of anger management.
For example, I type "IEnumerable" and the top three results..
BaseDataListDesigner.GetDesignTimeDataSource Method (.NET Framework)
RepeaterDesigner.GetDesignTimeDataSource Method (.NET Framework)
System.Windows.Forms Hierarchy (.NET Framework)
Forms hierarchy? Data list designer? Repeater? WTF???

Hi - does anyone know if it's possible to install 2 versions of MSDN library?
I recently installed MSDN 2005 Library for my VB.NET from my MSDN
subscription, and now I noticed I don't have any more help in my VB6. I just
figured MSDN 2005 would have all the help for prior versions of VB. Does
having the Help in VB6 require an older version of MSDN, and if so, can more
than one version be installed?
Thanks a lot for any help -
Dan

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
