Fancy UI

I'm developing an application and I'd like to create a UI beyond the plain
old windows form that I'm used to using. A simple example of what I'd like
to start doing is to read a digital thermometer and display the readings in
a form that contains a picture of a thermometer that reacts to the change in
retrieved data. Can somebody point me to some examples or to other resources
that can help me get started?

TIA

Peter,

That's just what I was looking for. I'm surprised that it's so simple.

Thanks.
