Hi Jeremy,
Maybe it is normal, but when I do a ping or a tracert on www.microsoft.com I
get everytime another IP number
When I try the reach the site with that IP than that is impossible.
I don't know if that is new or always was.
When I use such an IP adres, I can not reach www.microsoft.com

Maybe your DNS resolution is up the creek.

No, I don't think so. Our network guy said everything is fine, only MS is
causing us problems.

I see from the replies that lots of people didn't have problems but I
couldn't get hotmail for hours last night. It is ok this morning, but
then again I'm not using roadrunner like I was last night. I didn't
try any Microsoft site except hotmail so I can't tell you about that.
But I did get on lots of other websites when hotmail wasn't working.

I think that's normal. There is not only a single server.

Ahhh... I am using RR too. However, the only sites I am having problems
with are MS sites (that I've seen), I wonder if RR is having some sort of
DNS problem.

Also, it really has nothing to do with VB.net... So, you might want to go
and ask in another group...

If you are on a cable modem, the problem was with them. There were some
stories on it. Check goggle:

A glitch is preventing a significant number of customers using AOL Time
Warner's Road Runner high-speed Internet service from connecting to certain
Microsoft Web sites.

That's right. The Microsoft servers use load-balancing. Kind of cool, if you

I am looking to set up a fail safe site. My idea is to setup three _duplicate_ sites with three different webhosts. The DNS provider (Zoneedit) provides a distributed failover system; the DNS host tests the primary website, and if it fails to respond, the DNS record is altered to point to an alternate site. The problem that I face is...
