I am using VB6 SP6. I have an application that prints charts. Specifically,
it prints line charts of plant process information nightly. The code is a
mix of API calls and Printer methods. I am currently migrating to a new PC
running XP. The charting application is hanging on a single line of code:
Printer.Orientation = vbPRORLandscape
It throws an error '484', "Problem getting information from the printer.
Make sure printer is set up...

Hi there,
I have created an Access 2002 db which contains several reports. Some
reports need to be printed on a Laserjet and others on a Labelprinter.
One of my clients wants to be able to print the same reports to 3
different laserjets and to 3 different labelprinters. (They work with
the db on 3 different units each with their own Laserjet and
Labelprinter)
For each unit there is a copy of all the reports.
The client can make a unit...

I need to print using the VB.net printing classes to a tractor feed printer.
My client loaned me a Panasonic kx-p2123 to set up the job. I was able to
print from Notepad using the Generic/Text Only driver, but not from VB.
The printer specific driver is available in the Win2k driver list, but when
using that driver, the printer prints a few characters of jibberish then
feeds to a new page and prints a new line of jibberish. It does this...

I am not sure if I am in the right group.
My problem is this:
My VB.NET application prints to the Epson printer using Epson OPOS

site (www.epsonexpert.com) I have also downloaded the Epson Advanced
Printer Driver from the Epson site.
I have installed Microsot POS for .NET on a windows 2000 machine. The
installation completes but it throws an error "Error 5008....

Hi,
I must print a PDF report from a windows service (so without human
action). The pdf is located in a specific place on hard drive that is
accessible to the application. Until now, I've only been able to open the
pdf file and the press on the "Print" button in acrobat. But that exactly
what I must avoid. The service must load the document and print it (well,
maybe not load it, but at least print it) all by itself. And the document
can...

Hi all,
I'm trying to set up two buttons on a form:
one to print a report to my printer (which happens to be set as default printer in windows) and,
another to convert the report to a pdf file (which is not set as default)
Is there a way to write code in the buttom click event to change which printer it prints to (either \\W1\HP Color LaserJet 1500 or Adobe PDF)?
The code that I have right now prints to my default HP printer:

Hi there,
I have some code that prints a report to a pdf driver (Adobe). I am using this code on two different machines, and hence two different installations of Access. On one machine the pdf prints in color, on the other it prints only in black and white.
I have traced the problem to the Adobe PDF printer properties menu WITHIN Access. On the machine that works, the color button is selected on the "Paper/Quality" tab by default,...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
