How do I get a datagrid to register a data change from a custom control cell (combobox) I've got a Windows Application with a Windows Form Datagrid that has a custom combobox column. When the user clicks on a new row in the datagrid and tries to select or enter a new value in the combobox, the datagrid doesn't seem to register the change, so if the user tabs through the columns and onto the next row, the data is cleared and not saved Does...

I am considering buying LLBLGen Pro for my Windows.Forms application. I want to use DataGrid control to present data in my database tables. One of features I rely on is easy data sorting based on different attributes shown. In the LLBL documentation I can see that it is not possible to click DataGrid column header to sort the data. Is it possible to somehow achieve that kind of operation?

I have read many posts and seen many papers on the different techniques for sort and filtering datagrids. Many do re-queries against the dB ala Fritz Onion. I am trying to leverage the Dataview. The following control simply responds to a sort request and/or a pageing reqeust with an empty table (header only). Any ideas ? Code behind : namespace OakTree.data {

Hi all, I have a DataGrid which is bound to a DataView to return search results. The DataGrid headers allow sorting so when clicked I rebind the DataView with the appropriate Sort property. To save expensive database calls, the DataView is used instead of re-querying. I've now got a problem where if I select a row in the DataGrid, then sort the column, the position maintained is the same, but the wrong row is now selected due to the...

I've got a new DGV problem that makes no sense. I need to implement a very simple "row move" operation in a DGV. basically if the user pressed Shift+Up or Shift+Down the selected row and it's previous or following row are swapped. This gives the effect of moving a row up or down. I'm achieving this by swapping the values of a cell (OrderIndex) that the DGV is sorted on. Here is the code: <code> private void...

I am working with editing within a DataGrid control cell and am confused about which events occur after the editing is completed. I see that 5 events can occur total, including the ones below and AfterColEdit, AfterUpdate. 1. BeforeColUpdate/ 2. AfterColUpdate/ 3. BeforeUpdate or all of these occur? 1. BeforeColUpdate says after editing is completed in a cell, but before dates is moved from the cell to the DataGrid control's copy...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
