I've lately been plagued with a SEHException while trying to debug VB.Net applications. I'm not exactly sure when the problem started to appear but it literally just appeared out of nowhere as debugging was working fine one day and then this error the next.
I've read plenty of posts relating to this error but they all seem outdated and they mostly seem to point to Application.Ena bleVisualStyles () which i do not use.
Also note that if i open a brand new solution with a blank form and try to debug that, i still get the same error. I've tried using different frameworks too (2.0, 3.0, 3.5 SP1) but the problem seems to happen with all three.
System info:
- Vista Home Premium (64-bit) w/ SP1 (6.0.6001)
- Visual Studio 2008 Professional SP1 (9.030729.1)
The error reads:
- SEHException was unhandled
- "External component has thrown an exception."
- In: System.Runtime. InteropServices .SEHException
- Error Code: -2147467259
- Source: System.Windows. Forms

Needless to say I've been extremely annoyed by this error so any help is appreciated.
Thanks a million!
