Hi,
I have a little problem with encoding. Was hoping maybe anyone can
help me to solve it.
There is some amount of data in a database (PG) that must be inserted
into Excel sheet and emailed. Nothing special, everything works.
Except that non-ascii characters are not displayed properly.
The data is stored as XML into a text field. When I use pgsql it's
displayed good in the terminal. Now I run my script and print data

I have a program. It takes in files that are delimited.
The delimiters are declared in the file by looking at
fixed positions in the file (If you work with ANSI x12
files, you know what I mean). This normally isn't a
problem, but I'm getting a file that is using some odd
characters as delimiters.
Specifically, a Hex 'BA' is declared as a delimiter. I

I have a software application I've written called PowerBlog (PowerBlog.net)
that takes the editing capability of the Internet Explorer WebBrowser
control (essentially a DHTMLTextBox), extracts the user-typed HTML, assigns
it as an XML node's InnerText property (using C#: System.Xml.XmlDocument
obj; obj.InnerText = myHTML). Then I later get the InnerText as a string and
write to disk.

Hi,
I've got a problem using StreamReader in VB.NET.
I try to read a txt file that contains extended characters and theese
are removed from the line that is being read.
I've read a lot of articles about ANSI encoding like this

I am having alot of difficulty with text files in .NET when they have special
characters like Ã, ó, ç etc...
When i read a text file with them and then write it back out it ignores all
of those characters completely.
I tried all the encoding types and it seems only Encoding.Default does it
right... but it sounds dangerous... can I rely on Encoding.Default behaving
like this for all other machines?
