How Do I Search the Entire Solution?

TC
I use Visual Studio 2005 v8.0 on two different computers. On one, the
"Find and Replace" dialog gives me the option to look in the "Entire
Solution". On the other computer, the "Find and Replace" dialog does
not have that option.

I would really like to be able to search the entire solution on the
second computer, but I can't figure out how to enable that option.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Note that I asked this question before, but I didn't receive a reply:

I'd be interested in the answer to this too. It doesn't seem to be in
Tools>Options.

have you made sure you have selected "Find in Files" instead of "Quick
Find" (top left button) ?

Pamela,

I am using "Quick Find". On one computer, Quick Find gives me the
option to look in "Entire Solution". On the other computer, it does
not. From that, I infer that Quick Find is supposed to support Entire
Solution, but is disabled on the second computer for some reason.

With"Quick Find", I dont have it too. But, you have it in the
combination "Quick Find" - "Replace In Files"

From that, I infer that Quick Find is supposed to support Entire

check if the other has "Replace In Files" instead of "Quick Replace"

Pamela,

Yes, on both computers, "Find in Files" and "Replace in Files" support
"Entire Solution". That gives me the functionality I need. Thank you.

However, I still find it odd that two computers running the same
version of Visual Studio would behave differently in "Quick Find" and
"Quick Replace". I can only speculate that some configuration setting
is different on the computers. Does anyone know what that
configuration setting is?

Trying to use the 'search' in the docs section of PostgreSQL.org is extremely SLOW. Considering this is a website for a database and databases are supposed to be good for indexing content, I'd expect a much faster performance. I submitted my search over two minutes ago. I just finished this email to the list. The results have still not come back. I only searched for: SECURITY INVOKER

What is the *fastest* way in .NET to search large on-disk text files (100+ MB) for a given string. The files are unindexed and unsorted, and for the purposes of my immediate requirements, can't be indexed/sorted. I don't want to load the entire file into physical memory, memory-mapped files are ok (and preferred). Speed/performance is a requirement -- the target is to locate the string in 10 seconds or less for a 100 MB file. The...

Does anyone know of any Libraries using .NET for the Indexing, Search, and Retrieval of Text Documents? I am searching for API's to analyze a set of docs and convert text into indexable tokens, create indices and then harvest query results from those indicies. Similar to Apache's Jakarta Lucene project: a high-performance, full-featured text search engine library. http://jakarta.apache.org/lucene/docs/api/index.html

Dear all, I have a database with all the research capabilities of professors of a university. I need to implement a "keyword search" feature in my welcome page which will actually work like a query generator and search my entire database for the keyword entered by the user and show up table/form that has the keyword searched for. Please let me know as soon as possible.
