Reporting Engines

Hey All,

Does anyone know of any good reporting engines for .NET? We're
currently evaluating Telerik, Reporting Services and Crystal Reports.
We need to be able to have multiple input/output formats, drilldown
capabilities and it needs to be easy for us and our users to create
reports.

Any input that anyone has would be appreciated.

Reporting Services rocks... I've done a ton with it recently.

Now when you say 'end users' what do you mean?

I'd go with Reporting Services, hands down.. but what you are really
asking is this:

a) SQL Reporting Services 2008
or
b) SQL Reporting Servives 2005.

And the answer is _DEFINITELY_ wait a few months for SQL Server 2008

I have recently started to convert several of my websites over to dynamic sites with pages written as requested with php and in some cases using mysql databases to supply data within parts of the pages rather than the plain HTML that they used to be writtten in. I am concerned as to how this will affect the ability of the search engine spiders to map out my websites. Can anyone tell me what the ramifications of doing this are, and if...

Q: Is PHP search engine friendly? Q: Will search engine spiders crawl my PHP pages? A: Spiders should crawl anything provided they're accessible. Since, nowadays most of the websites are been developed with PHP, you are not supposed to doubt that. As a proof that PHP pages could be crawled and indexed, refer this Google search

Can inference search-engines narrow-down the number of often irrelevant results, by using specific keywords; for the purpose of discerning emerging social & business trends? For example, if authors of content subconsciously mention the keywords "lately and noticed" within the same brief sentence, the reader may infer "an unintended message" through the process of "inferential scanning;" a method of noting "semantic anomalies" which may...

I am asking this question here because I asked this question in the Reporting Services Newsgroup and did not get an answer. Does anyone know if Reporting Services is intended to work in a client/Server or Local machine environment? Based on what I have seen my guess is yes but that is a guess. In some materal it talks about it running on a web server but my supposition is that this does not necessarily mean that it would not make for a...

I am building a website with identical content in four different languages. On a first visit, the search engine determines the language of the content by the IP address of the visitor. What the user sees is content in only one language at a time. He or she can then switch to another language and set this as the preferred language, but again he or she sees content in only this one other language. The question now is: How do I get search...

Hi I have several reports that I have imported from Access into SQL Reporting Services 2005. They are multi-level grouping reports and SQL Server Reporting Services generates rectangles and lists within lists to make them work. I then go in and set the visibility conditionally on the various rectangles to hide them where there is no data in a group. The problem is that the reports work fine when they are on a report server in particular...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
