Hi,
I have been looking into AOP (Aspect-Oriented Programming) for
sometime, now. I frankly don't like the syntax of any of the
approaches I have seen so far. I am kind playing around with some
ideas, and maybe write up an article later.
AOP is not just buzzword. It's not just callback, it's not just Ruby's
MixIn, it's not just Python's metaclass, it's not just C++'s template.
AOP can be implemented/considered as a subset of...

My program can, when directed, check a floppy for updates, verify the MD5
sums from another source, then copy the new Java classes to its own
directory tree. Once it does this, I'd like to restart the program so the
changes take effect.
What's the best way to do this?
I figure if I call the program's main class, it will run, but then I'll have
2 instances (the original and the one that's upgraded) running -- plus I'm
not sure if the...

I am wondering if any can point me to any open-source library with program
objects for C++ like there is in Java? I would like to be able to write
things like
MyProgram1 >> MyProgram2 >> Fork(MyProgram3, SomeFile);
If not would this be something of interest to others?
Thanks in advance,

I don't know where should I ask the question, so send the email to this
group.
I choose this group, because I want to write the program with c++ :)
I want to write a program which support multiprotocol, but do not want
to write code for all protocols which I want to support. I plan I give
a interface and others give a module which implements a protocol, and
then the module can be inserted into my program without recompiling my
program....

can do:
Set wshobj=Server.CreateObject("WScript.Shell")
resobj=wshobj.Run("cmd /c echo Y| cacls c:", 0, True)
Set wshobj=Nothing
But I don't know how to do this in ASPX page (writen in C#).

They usually don't teach you in most textbooks I've seen that
delegates can be used to call class methods from classes that are
'unaware' of the delegate, so long as the class has the same signature
for the method (i.e., as below, int Square (int)).
Here is an example to show that feature. Note class "UnAwareClass"
has its methods Square and Cuber called by a class DelegateClass.
This is because these methods in UnAwareClass have the...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
