I have a fairly basic VB.NET application that I converted from VS2003 to
VS2005 and now it crashed the VS2005 IDE pretty regularly while trying to
use the form designer.
I've removed any 3rd references in my projects and recoded methods to remove
any deprecated functions.
Anyone have any suggestions?

This is just in one project (converted from VS 2003). I have gone through the project and started commenting all controls. I thick I have narrowed it down to a custom child control. Once this code is commented the project becomes "stable"

Basically what I have is a custom control that runs on it's own thread. It is a series of PictureBoxes that change based off of status codes in the database. (e.g. it shows E if the record has been emailed, F if faxed, etc). I want them to run on their own thread since the status changes often and there could be multiple people working on the record at the same time.
Do you know if there is something inherently worng with the way that I am implementing this thread and delegate?

VS2005 is a PIECE of Garbage and is bug Ridden, I wonder how many others
feel the same, I am so sorry that I have moved away from VS2003,

After VS2005 SP1 crashes enough times, it stops offering to send crash dumps
to Microsoft. But it doesn't stop crashing.
When VS2005 SP1 reloads a project after a crash, it still displays a
reminder "ha ha, you forgot to spend 30 minutes doing an Analyse in

I install Visual Studio 2005 Pro on Vista. I open and migrate a 2003 web
project to 2005. I attempt to browse an aspx file from the Solution Exploer.
It displays a blank html page.
I create a master page with 3 content placeholders. I create a WebForm that
uses the master and then browse it to have a look. I get an empty html page.
I change from the IIS to the internal server. No change. Only displays

Is VS2008 more stable than VS2005 SP1 on large VB projects? We get out of
memory exceptions and strange errors throughout the day in 2005 and it's
getting annoying. We are all running Vista x64 with 4 gig of ram (quad core
processors) and it runs fast and smooth, but every once in a while it just
slows down and eventually crashes.
We have SP1 with the Vista Update for VS2005 and also SP1 for Vista
installed.
