How to format text and combo controls for Telephone and Zip code and other needs?

Hi all. I need to format my text box's and combo box's with Telephone (###)
###-#### and Postal Code #####-#### or other custom formating, how do I do
this? I tried to go into Properties, Databindings, Advanced and to use the
Custom but it didn't work to well. To clarify: it placed (###) ###-#### in
my Telephone field but didn't guide my user or format the number after
entering data, so it was pretty useless. Obviously I didn't do it correctly.
Any suggestions on how to enter a Custom format?

Regards,

Robert

I just realized that I posted this earlier with no title. Sorry. Here's the original post: I have a form with a combo box on it that, when a selection is made, fills in several other controls on the form. The data list for this combo box can be updated via another pop-up form. When I close this pop-up form, I requery the combo box to reflect the addition in the list. Rather than having the user select the name they just added, I'd...

I have a (Access 2003) contact management database where the user can double-click a contact's phone number in a form and have the Windows Phone Dialer dial the number. The problem is the number has to be in canonical format or dialing rules won't be applied (cf. MSKB Article 318575). I don't want to use an Input Mask because users like to put comments after the number, like: "985-983-0098 ext. 980 - Mike B." I thought there might be a...

Don't know if this group covers web apps, but here goes. In VS 2005, I am trying to get variables to hold thier values during postback from the server. I convert a text box's user-keyed value to an integer and assign it to a module level variable, then convert the variable and assign it to a hidden text box, setting it's EnableViewState to true so it returns with the reload. Then in the form's load event, I attempt to convert the contents...

I want to set things up such that a section of code will have been executed by the time one clicks on the drop down arrow on a combo box control. Currently, that section of code resides in the OnGetFocus event of the combo box control, and this appears to work...I'm guessing because one cannot click on the drop down arrow of a combo box control without first having the combo box control receive focus. But I noticed that the code gets...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
