VB.NET Help - Replacement For Inet control

Rob
Hi, My name is Rob

I have been trying to use the System.Net.Webc lient function without
success. In VB6 to get the latest version I simple did this:

if Inet.OpenUrl("h ttp://somesite.com/update.php") =(My Application
Version) then
Main.show
else
'Out of date
end if

But now I cant do this. If you get my jist then im trying to say I cant
get data straight from a webpage to values. I do not want to download a
text file or anything else.

Thanks I would apreciate it so much if someone helped me, Rob

Found out from my ISP that if my DBs go up the spout then it's down to me to restore - gulp!!! I've created a little FTP gizmo where I could download web pages OK, but not

Hi All Using the INET control to extract data from web sites and was told that the user agent should really be spoofed to make it look like a browser, as search engines sometimes black list submitters who don't use browsers to submit. My queries are: 1) What header does the INET send to a web server?

what's the best option for using the Inet control in VB.net? Is there a control that's built for the .net framework that's similar to or better than the old Inet control? I'm opening a URL and port and passing data to that URL and port. The inet control worked fine in VB 6 for this, any ideas on VB.net? Thanks for any help.

What is the .NET equivelent of the iNet control I tried FtpWebRequest but that doesn't do it. All I want to do is give an ipaddress, user name and password, send a CD command and a DIR command to get back a lists of files and then download one of those files. The ip is a local ip NOT on the web. Any examples would be helpful. -Louie

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
