Hello all,
It stinks being a newbie! One thing that I'm not sure about with CSS
is: where is the "proper" place to put font attibutes? This has me a
little confused. Take the below style sheet (which is a work in
progress) as an example. If I don't put the font attributes in the
<body> <p> and <td> tags, the font will not appear the way I want (when
I work in FrontPage, anyway). It doesn't seem to be enough to put the
font attributes in...

I'm wondering if there are general rules for the use of HTML attributes with ASP tags?
For example, one can set an id for an asp:DataGrid and it will show up as the id for
the resulting HTML table.
So then can one set, say, a class for an asp:DataGrid and all other asp tags that map
one-to-one to HTML tags and have it pass thru? I'd like to use class in particular to
map the resulting generated HTML to CSS names. I just tried this and...

Hi in a simple application that consists of a couple of user input
forms. I'm wondering what the difference is between using a database
technology and a plain text file?
I've been working on this program for a week or so now and its a hobby
project. I have never understood how to work with databases in visual
studio (although I have strung together a couple of Microsoft access
databases in the past, by trial and error.)
As I don't...

Right-click on a file (e.g. a .wmv file) in Windows Explorer and there's the
"General" tab with Date Created, Attributes (i.e. whether the file is read
only or and.or hidden), and other properties. I can get at these values
programatically via the System.IO namespace and the FileInfo method:
FileInfo file = new FileInfo(@"C:\Data\MyFile.wmv");
Response.Write("Location :" + file.FullName + "<BR/>" +
"Size :" + file.Length + "<BR/>" +...

As many of us may know, certain attributes of some HTML tags are not
supported in XHTML 1.0 Strict (see
http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_hr.asp). I am working on making anything I
can XHTML 1.0 Strict compatible (preparing for the future) by converting the
attributes to CSS. First of all, does anybody know of a good page that maps
each specific HTML attribute to the CSS property that could be used in it's
place? A site like this would...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
