where is the new access 2007 newsgroup?

since Access 2007 is a 'major change' then i assume that MS is going to
make a new newsgroup for it.

I mean; when VB.net 2002 came out; they decided to rename the 'main vb
newsgroup' as 'Microsoft.Publ ic.Dotnet.Langu ages.VB'

and now.. when people go to microsoft.publi c.vb they see 'vb as a dead
language'

so I nominate this newsgroup name for Access 2007

Microsoft.Publi c.Office.2007.A pplications.Acc ess

wouldn't that be great?
I mean; the Microsoft was is to assume that a longer group name makes
it MORE APPROPRIATE for a new version of Access..

above all, Microsoft needs to be consistent.

so who votes for
Microsoft.Publi c.Office.2007.A pplications.Acc ess

if they don't want to change the newsgroup name; then I ask that they
rename the vb group 'microsoft.publ ic.dotnet.langa uges.vb' to
microsoft.publi c.vb

I mean seriously here. They need to be consistent

Thanks

that's just flat out funny.. absolutely hilarious

i'm just trying to say-- that MS is making it appear as if vb is dead
by the dismal traffic in microsoft.publi c.vb

either this damn langauge is called VB or its .NOT but as we all
know-- it's not called .NET anymore.. it's just called VB 2005.

Why can't VB 2005 use the microsoft.publi c.vb newsgroup?

I hate the word .NET i would rather use microsoft.publi c.vb
the word .NET just reminds me of the horrible injustice that happened
in the great battle for VB.net 2002 and VB.net 2003.

they shouldn't have changed the newsgroup name back then; and I just
flat out refuse to let MS inadvertently kill off VB by making it appear
abandoned

microsoft.publi c.vb
microsoft.com/vb

these two addresses make it appear as if ms has killed VB

I think that MS is surely losing the VB.net battle; as a symptom; I
refer to the traffic count in this channel is so much lower than the
C# channnels

Perhaps that's because VB is easier than C# and people need less help.

robin i still dont get it.

how do you not understand that 6 million is less than 30m?
seriously here.

do the math; or wait does vb.net not load fast enough to do this calc?

You really *are* a piece of work, aren't you?

Killing 6 million people purposely in the death camps is no
"better" than killing 30 million Chinese (if it's true) just
because it was a fewer number. What makes it more horrific is
that it was a specific group of people targeted and they were
systematically killed, they were driven into gas chambers and
shoved into ovens because of their religion.

This is an inappropriate setting for a discussion, and I
hereby invoke Godwin's law, and declare this thread dead.

and the holocaust did happen.. I saw the 'work camps' first hand about
20 years ago...

I just don't think that they indiscriminitel y killed people.. and if
they did then they probably worked them to death

but then again; we did the same thing in America with internment
camps;
etc.

and for the record; the nips killed what 30 million chinese? and
stalin
killed 50 million russians.. hitler killed 6 million jews-- so why
does
hitler get all the bad press when it was really the damn japs that did
all the killing?

the truth is that nobody gives a shit about japs killing chinese or
russians killing russians-- because they're considered 'less important
peoples'

no; I dont think that we should be propping up a failed military
dictatorship in Israel.
I dont think that the Holocaust justifies running in and stealing a
bunch of land and putting a little blue and white flag on top.

but I do believe that there were a lot of awful things going on in
World War 2... but I would choose Auschwitz over Nanking any day of
the
week.

Wow, you're agreeing with yourself. Don't you think everyone

dbahooker and aaron.kempf are the same person? I guess I need to
add a
few more aliases to my killfilter.

I've been clicking around Access 2007 Beta 2 and can't see the custom menu bar designer. Is it in the beta? Maybe I'm blind. The question that comes to mind is: Will custom menu bars be the same height as they were in previous versions or will they be the "ribbon" style that takes up a huge portion of the screen? Also when I use Access 2007 to open an Access 2003 database that has custom menu bars they display as they did in Access...

Good day dear members of the comp.databases.ms-access newsgroup. Please I need your help on the following. I'm the administrator of an Access 2007 database. I would like my enterprise personnel could add entries to one specific table by the use of an interface or form without launching the data base (because the data is confidential). We do not have Windows Share Point. Please how can I do so ?

Hi Have just installed IIS7 on Vista and am trying to access a .mdb file through ASP. Getting server error. I think the problem is in the file permission. Under XP Pro/IIS6 is used to have to set the .mdb file security via windows explorer to give IUSR_machinename full permissions on this file for anonymous web access. Cant seem to do this with Vista explorer - says object cannot be found.

Is there a way in VB.NET to build a Form/Control as easily as Access 2007 does? I built a small name and address application in Access 2007 and I was surprised at what I was able to do without any code. Access Forms allow a Datasheet (GridView) to show by setting a property (I have mine set to Datasheet on Top). Pretty sweet and easy. I am a seasoned programmer (over 20 years) but I am a newbie to VB.NET 2005. Our company brought in some...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
