Thank you for any help you can give me. I have a database that I've
been working on... a backend for the server and front ends for the
users. Now I've found out that the network is wireless and that
wireless & Access don't get along... I have been reading what I could
find in this group... but I would like to clarify.
The users have Windows XP... so I put the backend on the server in the
root directory and put a front end for each user...

I have an ASP.NET app that has very slow connect times using TCPClient, or
the Socket class, or even calling a COM object that uses C socket calls on
certain similar XP SP2 boxes.
On those boxes, if another connection is made within a couple seconds, it is
fast. Running the same C# code in a console app connects instantly.
Unplugging the network cable allows localhost connections to be instant (?!).
Running the same ASP.NET app on...

Hello all, I was hoping one of you experts could help me. I'm trying to
find a way to connect to a specific (I only have one) wireless network
and then disconnect from it. Basically, I don't want to be constantly
connected to the web, but only when I need to be, like when I open
firefox or ie. I figured this would be a simple program, but I can't
figure out how to open and close the connections.
Something like:
OpenConnection();...

So, Ive got this one business client that's got about 10 Windows XP machines on a network, and added a Windows Vista machine to the mix. The network is a mix of wireless and wired computers on a wireless router connected with a switch. The "server" is wired, and this vista machine is on a wireless usb dongle.
There's one XP machine that acts as a simple file sharing server, and at first the Vista machine wouldnt see it, but I could ping...

OK this is my situation:
This coming Friday I will be getting Telewest broadband installed in my house, along with my PC there are 3 other PC's and 1 Laptop, making a total of 5 all using Windows. We are hoping to set up a wired/wireless network after the broadband arrives so we can all use the internet at the same time (the broadband connection by the way is 750). I am told that the Telewest modem is ethernet compatible which apparently is a...

SP2. I just bought a D-Link DWA-130 Wireless N USB Adapter and I am trying
to connect this set up to a Mac Airport Extreme wireless Router. The PC
recognizes the wireless signal and correctly identifies the network.
However, when I attempt to connect, the PC does not connect. I have a
Toshiba laptop running Windows XP with SP2 that connected to the network

Hi all,
I have a question about the netsh command. I looked everywhere but nobody seems to have my problem.
For the moment if i do "netsh wlan show profiles" i see my current network under the section user profiles. It's there because i connected through the UI.
But I can, if not already connected, also connect to it through "netsh wlan connect name=MyNetwork"
Now i have a second wireless network at home, not secured. but if i want to...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
