List box Navigation buttons

I need to write some code in some navigation buttons to have the button
move up and down list box items.

I think I need to start with having the button change an index

the buttons are previous, next and update. where previous would move
the cursor up the list one, next would move the cursor down the list
one and update would change the string that is in the current cursor
position in the list box

the data information is coming from three text boxes on a form.

ANy help would be appreciated.

Just in case anyone else is trying to figure out how to do this, here
is my code that works.

' A button that moves to a previous entry in the list box VB.net 2005

Private Sub btnPrev_Click(B yVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As
System.EventArg s) Handles btnPrev.Click

lstGrades.Text = CStr(lstGrades. Items(lstGrades .SelectedIndex -
1))

End Sub

' a button that moves to the next entry in a list box VB.net 2005

Private Sub btnNext_Click(B yVal sender As Object, ByVal e As
System.EventArg s) Handles btnNext.Click

lstGrades.Text = CStr(lstGrades. Items(lstGrades .SelectedIndex +
1))

End Sub

I'm still trying to figure out this one ' button update a entry in the
list box.

Private Sub btnUpdate_Click (ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As
System.EventArg s) Handles btnUpdate.Click
End Sub

Keep in mind that the text might wrap from the posting and if you need
the above code, if it doesn't fit on one line, make sure you use a
space and an underscore.

I am having some trouble with some old code revolving around custom form navigation buttons. My main form has a sub-form with these custom navigation buttons. In other words, the code should be modular and work across forms and sub-forms. My previous code was taken from the Access Expert Solutions 97 (Leszynski) many years ago. As my database became more complex with multiple sub-forms and intricate combo boxes, the code faltered. Some...

Howdy, Saw a couple threads from the past few years on this topic, but didn't really find any solutions. Here's one I found: http://groups.google.com/group/comp.databases.ms-access/browse_frm/thread/f6ccff0186d12566/ That fella wanted to do pretty well the same thing I did (use a command button to move between records in a form). Moving from record to record

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
