problem with tooltip on framework 2.0

Hi all,

I am experiencing a strange problem for the call setToolTip while
running my application on frmaework 2.0. I have found 2 messages on
google discussing the same issue but there are
no replys

It dumps saying something like
System.InvalidO perationExcepti on: Adding the tip to the native ToolTip
control did not succeed.
at System.Windows. Forms.ToolTip.S etToolInfo(Cont rol ctl, String
caption)
at System.Windows. Forms.ToolTip.C reateRegion(Con trol ctl)
at System.Windows. Forms.ToolTip.C reateAllRegions ()
at System.Windows. Forms.ToolTip.g et_TopLevelCont rol()
at System.Windows. Forms.ToolTip.C reateRegion(Con trol ctl)
at System.Windows. Forms.ToolTip.H andleCreated(Ob ject sender,
EventArgs eventargs)
at System.Windows. Forms.Control.O nHandleCreated( EventArgs e)
at System.Windows. Forms.Control.W mCreate(Message & m)
at System.Windows. Forms.Control.W ndProc(Message& m)
at System.Windows. Forms.Label.Wnd Proc(Message& m)
at
System.Windows. Forms.Control.C ontrolNativeWin dow.OnMessage(M essage& m)
at System.Windows. Forms.Control.C ontrolNativeWin dow.WndProc(Mes sage&
m)
at System.Windows. Forms.NativeWin dow.Callback(In tPtr hWnd, Int32
msg, IntPtr wparam, IntPtr lparam)

The strange thing about this that it cannot be caught in the try catch
blocks.
Actually I have set the tooltip to most of the controls in my
application. It sets and displays it properly but somewhere in the
middle it dumps. The trace I am getting won't tell me exactly to which
tooltip it dumps so I am not able to figure out exactly.

Does anybody has found any solution for such problem

Thanks in advance

I wrote a tooltips script. I've noticed "small" problem occuring while using the IE browser. If a site is long enough for a scroll to appear and we move the mouse indicator on the link then the scroll "jumps" for a second and goes back to the previous position. I haven't seen it in other scripts. I have no idea what is wrong... I enclose my script full of <br /> index in order to scroll appearance.

Hi, I have problem with a C# Win Forms app that uses the ErrorProvider class to provide input validation feedback to the user. On my development workstation (WinXP Pro + Visual Studio .NET 2003), when I run the app by itself or from VS in debug, everything works fine... the ErrorProvider tooltips display correctly, etc. However, on other systems (e.g., Win 2003 Server, or even another PC running XP Pro), after the app enters validation...

I'm displaying a tooltip related to a listbox based on the selected item. It works well except when I move the cursor away from the listbox and then hover back over it, the tooltip pops up history for each item I have selected. For example, let's say I select an item. The tooltip pops up with the text. Good. Then I select a 2nd item, and the tooltip shows that text. Good. Then, I drag the cursor away from the listbox. The tooltip...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
