I am begginner at best so I hope someone that is better can help.
I have a stored procedure that updates a view that I wrote using 2
cursors.(Kind of a Inner Loop) I wrote it this way Because I couldn't
do it using reqular transact SQL.
The problem is that this procedure is taking longer and longer to run.
Up to 5 hours now! It is anaylizing about 30,000 records. I think
partly because we add new records every month.
The procedure...

The initial row is inserted with the colPartNum column containing a valid
LIKE pattern, such as (without the single quotes) 'AB%DE'.
I want to update the column value with the results of a query against a
different table (that uses the LIKE predicate) but cannot get around the
SQL0132 error .
I have tried the hex notation after the LIKE such as (without the
quotes)...
" where colNewPartNum like ( X'27' || nnn.colPartNum || X'27) " ,...

Here is what I have:
Table1 with two key fields: PartNum and WH# (warehouse number)
Table2 with only one key field: PartNum
Both tables contain a field called Price.
I want to update Table1 with the Price field from Table2 where the
PartNum field matches. Of course the WH# field does not have to match
because Table2 does not contain that field.

Hi
First a simple question ...
I have a table "access_log" that has foreign keys "app_id" and
"app_user_id" that reference the "application_type" and "app_user"
tables. When I insert into "access_log", the referential integrity
triggers generate these queries:
SELECT 1 FROM ONLY "public"."application_type" x

I have a situation where one of the app server thread is executing an
update statement on A record and at the same time another thread is
trying to read it by executing a select query. Now we are seeing
timeouts - Update query is holding the lock and the select statement
is timing off.
Now my question , how can I design this select statement so that it
doesn't wait for this update to be commiitted - I do not want to run
it with UR since...

First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
