I am starting and stopping a process using System.Diagnostic.Process.
aspnet_wp is running as system rather than machine (as per machine.config
modification). When the process gets started, it will not respond to tcp
connections. The process is a service that accepts incoming tcp
connections.
Any ideas will be great.

Hello All,
Hopefully someone has run into this error. I have written a class(source
below) that launches a thread to monitor the StandardOutput of a
System.Diagnostics.Process, in particular I am executing the find.exe
program.
The application works perfectly in the development environment. As soon as
I execute the compiled program and start the find process I get an
"Application Error". The error states that the instruction...

This is the third newsgroup that I'm posting my problem.
I'm sorry for the multiple posts but the matter becoming urgent.
I hope this is the right place for it...
I have created a very simple batch file (echo hello world) and was trying to
retrieve the standard output but every time I run the code it returns
ExitCode as 1.

Hi,
I am trying to get information about 16-bit applications using
Process.GetProcesses and variants, but none of the 16-bit
applications show up with these methods.
I tried to get at them by looking at the properties of the
ntvdm process (see
http://www.microsoft.com/mspress/india/Pages/WinXP_tips_Insideout_101801_786.htm),
but to no avail.

System.Diagnostics.Process.Start fails on windows server 2003
the process returns process.ExitCode == 0 but executing any process with
System.Diagnostics.Process.Start on windows xp works fine.
anything to do different for windows server 2003? some special permission
for the process that executes another executable with
System.Diagnostics.Process.Start ??
here is the code:

I'm trying to create a ListBox that holds list of currently running
processes. So I inherited from Process a classes named _Process, which
it's objects are to be held in the ListBox (I just overrode the
"ToString"). Using the "GetProcesses" method, I get Process, that I
want to cast to _Process. So why do I get
"System.InvalidCastException" all the time ? ("Specified cast is not
valid")
using System.Diagnostics;

I must be missing it somehow...
I need to count the number of threads running, not just those started by my
application. Rather like the Task Manager, I would like to get the total
number of threads that are active.
What would be the most reliable way to obtain this number?
Thanks!

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
