Problem running program on 1280 by 800 screen

My program has a problems maybe related to running on the wide screen
computer. Even when I change the screen resolution to 1024 by 768 I still
get the problems.

Some times my program window does not show at all though the program is
running.

And when it does show the window the Flash control windows on my program
window are longer than they should be.

Is there some update that I need for Visual Studio 2003 VB .Net such that it
handles the new wide screen formats?

Or maybe this is another cause for this problem? The same program has run
successfully on lots of other XP OS machines having normal screen sizes.

Thanks!

Bob

I have a VB6 application running on a French computer using Windows ME. The app doesn't work the same way as it does when running on an English Windows OS. The main issue I have, that I can't seem to overcome, is that the english text font size my program thinks is available doesn't seem to be there. Although a line of text printed on a US Windows machine looks fine, when it is printed from this French computer the tabs are over written...

Hi everyone. Windows XP Pro/Access2000/2.4gig chip/512meg RAM/200GigDrive. I'm stumped. I've been involved in other things lately, but came back to the program I'm preparing and zipped into a report and it took FOREVER to load and run (well, about 12 seconds, which SEEMED like "forever"). I'm almost sure it didn't do this before I took my break--can reports get upset at you if you leave them alone?

I need to access some data on a server. I can access it directly using UNC (i.e. \\ComputerName\ShareName\Path\FileName) or using a mapped network drive resource (S:\Path\FileName). Here is my problem: my vb.net program has problems with UNC. If the UNC server is restarted or goes off-line, my VB.net program crashes. The code for UNC access to the file is included below and is put in the tick event of a form timer control running every...

Hello, all, I started out thinking my problems were elsewhere but as I have worked through this I have isolated my problem, currently, as a difference between MSDE and SQL Express 2005 (I'll just call it Express for simplicity). I have, to try to simplify things, put the exact same DB on two systems, one running MSDE and one running Express. Both have 2 Ghz processors (one Intel, one AMD), both have a decent amount of RAM (Intel system...

Hi, I've come across a strange problem with the WinForm's sizing. I've designed a WinForm and it runs fine on my computer and some other PCs. But when I was trying to run the app under some PCs with wide screen, some of my controls on the WinForm will automatic resize themselves to be bigger and thus push other controls off the screen. For a sample of this problem, please see http://usctimes.com/screen.jpg .. The screen on the left is...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...
