I have a VB6 application running on a French computer using Windows ME. The
app doesn't work the same way as it does when running on an English Windows
OS.
The main issue I have, that I can't seem to overcome, is that the english
text font size my program thinks is available doesn't seem to be there.
Although a line of text printed on a US Windows machine looks fine, when it
is printed from this French computer the tabs are over written...

Hi everyone.
Windows XP Pro/Access2000/2.4gig chip/512meg RAM/200GigDrive.
I'm stumped. I've been involved in other things lately, but came back to
the program I'm preparing and zipped into a report and it took FOREVER to
load and run (well, about 12 seconds, which SEEMED like "forever"). I'm
almost sure it didn't do this before I took my break--can reports get upset
at you if you leave them alone?

To all,
I have a GUI program (use c#), and I have create a Thread for loading
some bulk data, I also arrange the GUI program like this:
1) load a form showing "Wait for loading..." etc
2) a Thread is then created to load the bulk data
3) after the thread has completed, close the "Wait for loading" form
4) show the main form for the GUI program

I need to access some data on a server. I can access it directly using UNC
(i.e. \\ComputerName\ShareName\Path\FileName) or using a mapped network
drive resource (S:\Path\FileName).
Here is my problem: my vb.net program has problems with UNC. If the UNC
server is restarted or goes off-line, my VB.net program crashes. The code

Hello, all, I started out thinking my problems were elsewhere but as I
have worked through this I have isolated my problem, currently, as a
difference between MSDE and SQL Express 2005 (I'll just call it

I've come across a strange problem with the WinForm's sizing.
I've designed a WinForm and it runs fine on my computer and some other
PCs. But when I was trying to run the app under some PCs with wide
screen, some of my controls on the WinForm will automatic resize
themselves to be bigger and thus push other controls off the screen.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
