Prevent SQL Server setup screen from launching

Hi All
I have a vb.net Windows forms App which I am deploying with a VS.net 2005
deployment project

I have selected SQL Server express as a prerequisite and use the standard
SQL server express manifest file included with VS.net

If SQL server 2005 express is already installed on a computer when I run my
setup program the SQL server express setup still launches and runs for a
short period before finishing and my application setup begins

How can I stop the SQL server setup from running
I thought the SQL server check file used by the setup would have prevented
the server setup from launching if it found 1 already existed

I'm using an application (a Tcl/Tk app) that uses cl.exe to compile code in the background. One very annoying feature is that a DOS box is flashed to the screen and then withdrawn during linking. Imagine using this application to link thousands of executables and trying to use the machine while thousands of temporary DOS boxes appear and temporarily take focus away from the application you are using. The only other time that I have...

A word of warning, I am new to .NET and fairly new to SQL Server. The problem I have must be a common one, but I am uable to make it work. I have a .NET project and have the user management and roles working fine via Visual Studio and the default "ASPNewSQlMembershipProvider." There is database file called "ASPNETDB ..MDF", and users are easily created and logged in. I can access the tables fine. Now I just need to upload the...

When researching how to launch an application at the end of an install, I found a bit of information but just getting to the examples that I need is difficult and a little confusing. Note that launching at end of install should not really be that difficult. Upon searching I found: http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa372402(VS.85).aspx I'm thinking "GREAT" this is exactly what I've been looking for. The information is a little...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
