I have a class that among others exposes a string property "Date". The
date in this property is stored in the form yyyymmdd. Now I do the
following
1) Generate a DataGridViewTextBoxColumn column for that property
2) Add the column to the datagridview
3) Populate a BindingSource by adding all instances of the above
mentioned class.
4) Assign the BindingSource to the datagridview's DataSource property

I'm stumped. From what I read on MSDN, the code below should allow
the user to click on the column headers to sort the grid
automatically. Can someone point out why it does not?

I have been searching all over the web for a way to sort a DataGridView based on
the actual text being shown in a ComboBox column as opposed to the underlying
value (an ID in this case). Can anyone tell me if this is even possible, and if
so, how to do it? If this is completely impossible, how would you suggest going
about sorting a ComboBox wherein the text displayed in the column is the
client's name, and the underlying value is an ID?

I have a datagridview that I populate with the result of a web service. The
webservice sends multiple rows back with each row as one element of an
array. I use a for loop and the bindingsource.Add method to get the rows
into the grid.
That all works fine, but at runtime, the grid wont' allow me to sort. I
have used he smarttage to edit the columns and made sure that the sortmode
is set to "Automatic", but when I click the column...

I have a DataGridView object in a C# desktop app (.NET 2.0, by the way). I
am setting the DGV to use a SelectionMode of "ColumnHeaderSelect". I am
dynamically creating all of the columns and when I create them, I am setting
the SortMode to "Programmatically". However, when I debug my app and open
that form, I get the following error:
System.InvalidOperationException was unhandled
Message="Column's SortMode cannot be set to Automatic...

I have a Datagridview being populated from an SQL Table, but one of
the fields is a Date and Time stamp. The 'Automatic' sort still sorts
the field by alpha-numeric, not by date.
How can I force the Datagridview to sort by dates ?

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...
