Command Actions

Hi,
I have a solution I have written in VB.net. It consist of 2
projects. One of the projects is the setup application for the
installer. I created a batch file which includes the .msi from the
installer and upon running it uninstalls the application and
re-installs it.
I would like do all of this stuff (uninstall/reinstall) via the
custom actions of the installer.
How can I attach a custom action to the installer. I tried to find some
step-by-step examples - no luck. For example, to uninstall the
application I have the following commad line in the batch::
msiexec /x "GUID"
where guid is the unique identifier for the installed application. How
can I do the same
thing via the custom action? Any assistance is appreciated.

Regards,

I'm hoping someone can help me with this. I've seen and tried various solutions I've seen on the net, but nothing works. Of course it works perfectly on localhost, but when I upload it to the server (1and1.com) it gives errors. The user enters a code, the code is verified, a new one is created and it's supposed to send them to the next page. if (CodeExist($cCode) > 0){ $cNewCode = MakeCode(); $ok = InsertRec($cNewCode);

With all the Menu items, toolbar items and popup items that can total to about 50-75 choices in a gui design, what the 'easiest' way to map the action names with the class to call. Like to use the Command design pattern to do this generically: Somehow get the "action string" and map it to a "command class". Is this possible with Command, Reflection etc? Somehow:

Hi all, I need to execute a command-line program through PHP. I have a form which includes a textarea, where the user writes his data. These data will be used as input for the command-line program. Will I go something like: $data = $_GET; Which function shall I use? System, exec, shell_exec, passthru? I can't choose which one is the correct.

We're working on implementing a Command Pattern design with our application in order to help facilitate undo/redo. This is fine four user actions we control which basically means menu actions. However, it's not quite so clear for bound controls. We don't directly interact with the change--the user makes a change in a control, such as a grid, and the dataset stores the update. We haven't interjected any code which we can funnel through...

I'm using VS.NET 2005 (VB) webforms. I have a gridview control with a select command field. Actions are performed on the gridview.SelectedIndexChanged event when the select command is clicked. I would like to display descriptive text for the SelectText property of the command field. This text should be different for each row in the grid. I can't find a way to do this, I would appreciate any assistance.

Hi: Having completed enough serial driver code for a TMS320F2812 microcontroller to talk to a terminal, I am now trying different approaches to command interpretation. Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
