Best Suite Documentation

sh
I'm relatively new to VB.NET, although I've been a VB programmer for
over 10 years. I'm looking for a controls suite (something like
Infragistics or ComponentOne). However, I've been burned before with
products that have poor documentation and I don't want to get burned again.

I'm not looking for a suite who's main feature is whiz-bang aesthetics.
I'm looking for increased functionality, but I don't want to spend hours
on end getting it because I have to decipher perfunctory (mechanical,
careless, superficial) documentation. I'm looking for clear
documentation, good examples, and a helpful number of "how to ..."
tutorials. Good documentation also shows me that the developers care
about their end-users.

I've read opinions that condemn Infragistics and ComponentOne documentation.

Does anyone have high regard for them? Any other suites that people feel
have good documentation?

I use Infragistics in most of my work, however I have to admit that the
docs are, at best, inadequate. The samples are the best help when
using their components. With that said I have both ComponentOne and
Infragistics and I prefer Infragistics b/c of it's thoroughness and all
the components, once learned, use a similar model for programming and
share most functions.

Hello,

I do not have any information about either of these companies. They
both have a suite of components that are okay at best. I have no need
for most any of these types of controls. However, if you are looking
for grid/spreadsheet functionality, I would suggest you looking at
FarPoint Technologies (www.farpointspread.com). Their spreadsheet
component is very functional with great documentation and samples.
Also, their technical support is top notched.

Here is a pre-PEP for what I call "suite-based keyword arguments". The mechanism described here is intended to act as a complement to thunks. Please let me know what you think. Suite-Based Keyword Arguments ----------------------------- Passing complicated arguments to functions is currently awkward in Python. For example, the typical way to define a class property winds up polluting the class's namespace with the property's get/set...

I am looking into purchasing a general componenet suite that will give me Toolbars, Grids, Reporting, Printing and some other common components. I know there are many suites out there and I wanted some thoughts on which one to go with. I have been looking at these so far: Infragistics http://www.infragistics.com/products/NetAdvantage/default.aspx

Thanks to contributions from Microsoft and Sun updating and considerably extending their 2002 contributions, we now have nearly 40,000 tests for W3C XML Schema 1.0 2nd edition. All the tests are now accompanied by metadata in the form set out in the XML Schema Test Suite Framework . The community owes a big "Thank You" to NIST, Sun and Microsoft for contributing their extensive test collections -- we welcome further contributions!

When one architects a new project one of the first steps in the decision is to decide on the layers. (In my opinion anyway) One architecture that I have used before is to go solid OO and create objects, which normally are very small and only deals with the stuff pertaining to that object, then break it down into Business Process, Process Controllers and Data Access Objects for each "Object", each of which is created in it's very own .Net...

Is any one charting packing considered to be the "best"? We've used ChartFX but wasn't too happy about the way data had to be populated along with some other issues which slip my mind right now and Dundas has bugs and doesn't do a good enough job displaying axis labels and is very slow to paint large numbers of series and data points. We're currently evaluating ProEssentials which we are happy with but it's not a native .NET package. ...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
