Using Process.start to Open an XML file with Excel

Hi
I am trying to open an xml file the I have made from a dataset with
excel. By using the process.start. My users think it is to hard to
right click the xml file and open it with Excel that way, but .. So
this is what I have :

Dim myProcess As New Process
myProcess.Start Info.FileName = "C:\Documen ts and Settings\" &
myUser & "\Desktop\Sampl e.xml"
Dim startInfo As New ProcessStartInf o("Excel.exe" )
startInfo.FileN ame = "C:\Documen ts and Settings\" & myUser &
"\Desktop\Sampl e.xml"

myProcess.Start (startInfo)

Any Help would be great thanks

Tom

Hello all, Looking for suggestions and tips if possible. I have an application running on a file server that utilizes the FileSystemWatcher to trap when any Excel files are saved by a user. I then need to 'trap' the current file and generate an XML file from the data within the active spreadsheet. I have two issues so far with doing this... Issue 1: Once a file that is being watched is saved, I grab it using the

Hello NG, I'm need to write some code which creates tiff files from various document types (doc, pdf, xls). I want to do this by ShellExecuting (via System.Diagnostics.Process) the doc-files with the "print"-verb. This works for me. However, I need to handle the case when a printing application doesnt't quit in a given timespan (for example a password-protected word-document). So I've tried the following:

Heres my code: Dim sinfo As New ProcessStartInfo, myProcess As Process sinfo.FileName = "c:\test.txt" myProcess = Process.Start(sInfo) ----------- works fine, opens in notepad, myProcess has processdata in it. However, if I try to open an excel file, the file opens in excel, but Process.Start returns Nothing to myProcess. sinfo.FileName...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
