Visual Basic Hang

I've been developing an application in visual basic .net 2005 from the
beginning. I allways looked at the IDE as being slow, but i only had, 8
forms, some classes and 2 modules. Recently i imported an application that
has been developed with visual basic 6 and now i'm trying to fix the bugs on
my imported application. The problem is that application i've imported from
vb6 as a lot of forms, a lot of modules, a lot of everything, and each time
i press a key i have to wait 1 minute or more to press another key. I've
searched google and i found a couple of things, enought to know that this
seems to be a bug and that many developers are unhappy with the situation,
but i haven't found a sollution to the problem. Can you help?
My thanks in advanced

I just got myself a Visual Basic.Net compiler, and I'm looking for books to help me learn. Specifically, I'm a very experienced programmer (going back to 1968), I'm pretty accomplished in VBA for Excel (user forms, etc.), and I've written a lot of different languages. On the other hand, I never have gotten the hang of Visual C++. Being able to interact with the internet is a secondary consideration. Thanks in advance for any...

Hello! I tried to install the Visual Basic.NET Resource Kit (http://msdn.microsoft.com/vbasic/vbrkit/) but obviously something went very wrong and now it sems impossible both to repair and to remove (to start over from scratch) the installation. The messages popping up after choosing one of these two alternatives Repair/Remove Visual Basic.NET Resource Kit in the Visual Basic.NET Resource Kit Setup Wizard are in each case respectively: ...

If I have a windows form (System.Windows.Forms.Form) open and I push the pin on the toolbox to keep the docked window open, Visual Studios 2003 pegs the processor and basically hangs my computer. I have to kill the program, reboot the PC. Anyone else run into this or something similar? I'm running Version 7.1.3088 of the development environment and 1.1.4322 SP1 of the framework. This hang-up seems to happen regardless of the form that is...

Why do we have to contact MS for a problem that has been with this compiler from at least the beta of VS 20005. I am so sick and tired of the 30 - 40 clicks it takes to dismiss VS when there is a problem. Can they not just post the fix. I see no reason to contact MS since I have most likely sent about 1500 dumps to them and I would think this would get their attention.

An friend insider told me that VB is to be killled off within 18 months. I guess this makes sence now that C# is here. I believe it and am actualy surprised they ever even included it in VS 2003 in the first place. Anyone else heard about this development? The Master

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
