Generate Excel spreadsheet from Windows form app

Hi,

I am looking to develop a Windows Forms application that collects some user
information and then as a final step generates a simple Excel spreadsheet
based on the input. I am using Visual Studio 2005 (VB) and have the Office
Development Tools installed.

Is the programmatic way to generate a spreadsheet the same as the COM model
used with Visual studio 2003 ? If anyone have a sample to how to do this the
correct way, it would be much appreciated.

I found the following under the GetObject help notes and in the example for GetObject: "This example uses the GetObject function to get a reference to a specific Microsoft Excel worksheet (MyXL). It uses the worksheet's Application property to make Microsoft Excel visible, to close it, and so on. Using two API calls, the DetectExcel Sub procedure looks for Microsoft Excel, and if it is running, enters it in the Running Object Table. The...

Hi I have created a Windows Form that takes input. When the Run button is pressed the form is disabled and the code checks some files and inputs the data into an Excel worksheet (that is hidden so that I cannot watch as it gets filled up). When it is done it saves the Excel file. I find that if I go into another program while it's trying to work on the Excel spreadsheet that not all of the data appears (missing data!). If I click...

I am new to ASP.NET, but have been programming for about 14 years (C# about 2 years). My manager asked me to develop a web application that would allow employees to view a spreadsheet that is used to manage resources (projects, employees, hours, dates, etc). The employee should only be able to view data that pertains to them, and not be able to modify it (read only view). My thought is to allow my manager to upload the spreadsheet to a...

I'd like to embed an Excel spreadsheet in my C# application. The information I've found on the Web suggests placing a Web Browser control on the form and navigating it to an Excel spreadsheet. When I try this, I get a dialog asking if I'd like to open or save the spreadsheet - the spreadsheet never appears embedded in the application. Has anyone else had issues with this?

Problem for Excel Developers One of the problems facing Excel developers moving into MS Access is actually the apparent similarity between MS Access tables and Excel spreadsheets. MS Access is NOT Excel This similarity of the “look” in both programs, the layout of the data, leads to the Excel developer mistakenly thinking that a database works in a similar way to a spreadsheet. Flat File Database Spreadsheets are very sophisticated...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
