Is it possible to rollback an uninstallation from uninstall custom action
based on some user input. or any suggestions on how to do this.
If the user has an earlier version of the product and they are installing a
new version, ask them if they want to keep the earlier version or not. If
they want to remove the earlier version remove it and install the new version
and if they dont want to remove it simply install the new version. I am...

Hi,
Once in a while my application throws an NullReferenceException at startup,
however it appears to be occurring in an unknown module. If I debug it and
ask to 'break', then there is no source code available (I am running in Debug
mode of course).
What could be the cause of this? Can someone shed some light on this matter?
Kind regards,

I have a Web Server running IIS 5 or 6 on Windows 2K and Windows 2003 Server
that is experiencing strange shutdown problems. We are using ASP.NET v1.1
and our application is written in VB.NET
Here's the scenario:
1. .NET Windows Client on a remote machine makes a web service call to
update tables on a Web Server running SQL Server 2000.
2. The Update is updating about 1000 - 3000 records doing simple update
statements like "Update...

I am new to vb and .net framework. I wonder if I can use
vb to creat an application which can install a list of
applications from other drives of the machine to my
current drive, and uninstall a list of old version of the
applications automatically. I don't know what functions I
should call in .net library or win32 api. Any suggestions
will be appreciated.
Thanks

I'm receiving an exception when my webmethod exits after opening/closing an
Access database.
I can reproduce this easily enough by creating a new default ASP .NET Web
Service in VS.NET 2003. Adding this code to the default HelloWorld()
webmethod will cause the problem.
String* sConnection = S"Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;User ID=Admin;Data
Source=c:\\mydb.mdb";

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
