Take a look at our TList .NET Winforms control
www.Bennet-Tec.com/btproducts/TList/TList.htm

The installation kit includes a VB .NET Sample project showing TList
used like file explorer
( for .NET framework 1 or 1.1 )
This sample can then be easily modified to include a checkbox
for folders or individual files exactly as you suggest.
Take a look at the sample as it exists in install kit and if this
looks good to you then I can send details on adding the checkbox
support.
