vb.net and remote web files

How can I load the file names from a remote web server via VB.net? I created
a virtual directory on a w2003 server and did a
Dir("http://test.com/testdir/*.*")
I also tried
Dir("http://test.com/testdir/")
but it returns no error, just an empty string. Is there another way to read
file names on web server via vb.net
I can enter the http path "http://test.com/testdir/" in the windows run box
and it returns a listing of the files in the web directory, but I cant find
a way to do it in vb.net..
Thanks
Buc

You can't do that with Dir("http://test.com/testdir/*.*"),
The file system won't redirect the folder to a http server.

You can write some code to download the files to local folder
first, then browse it.

Hi, I finally figured out the best way to synch local and remote script folders, containing many php script files. What I used to do before was try to ftp all the changed files, etc. which was tedious and often broke. It was also very slow. What I do now is to pkzip the folder up, ftp the pkzip’ed data to remote, and then unzip it there, which recreates the directories and files.

I have setup remote debugging on an NT4 workstation for testing. I then build from the debug config on my machine and copy all the files from the /bin/debug folder including the .PDB files. I then connect to the remote machine with VNC and start the application, once running from VS .NET on my development machine I connect to that process and the running app is shown in the IDE, but I cannot get the application to stop on any breakpoints...

Hello, I want to put (incrementally) changed/new files from a big file tree "directly, compressed and password-only-encrypted" to a remote backup server incrementally via FTP,SFTP or DAV.... At best within a closed algorithm inside Python without extra shell tools. (The method should work with any protocol which allows somehow read, write & seek to a remote file.) On the server and the transmission line there should never be...

Hi, I am running visual studio 2005 on a Vista Ultimate client. I have created a remote site on a Windows 2003 R2 server. This site has about 100 aspx, many App_Code files and several references to DLL's. When I open the remote site within VS 2005 on the client machine, I takes very, very long before the site is opened and the solutione explorer shows all files. In the mean time the status bar shows a message like it is copying files...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
