Missing - Imports System.Manageme nt

I'm trying to work with the WMI class in the System.Manageme nt
namespace with Visual Basic.Net. I copied and pasted some example code
from Microsoft that contains the following namespace imports:

Imports System
Imports System.Manageme nt
Imports ROOT.CIMV2.Win3 2

Visual Studio does not recognize the System.Manageme nt namespace nor
the ROOT.CIMV2.Win3 2 namespace. They are not listed in Intellisense
listings either.

I'm using the Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003 Professional version.

I know I'm probably missing something fundamental but I can't seem to
find it. Any help is *greatly* appreciated.

Are you sure your project contains a reference to "System.Managem ent.dll"?

I've got a VB.NET windows application (written in VS .NET 2003) that makes a call to WMI for retrieving the MAC Address from the client's PC. It works on 4 out of the 5 PC's tested so far. All the workstations are DELLs running XP SP1a with the 1.1 .NET Framework. The following line of code generates an exception on the one PC: Dim oMac As New System.Management.ManagementClass("Win32_NetworkAdapterConfiguration") The error it...

Dear Group I wonder whether anyone has some information on the cause for this error? I've created a class for Win32_BIOS with mgmtclassgen Win32_BIOS /L VB, added the file to my VB.NET project and tried calling a property with the following code in a button_click event: Dim PCBios As New ROOT.CIMV2.Win32.BIOS Debug.WriteLine(PCBios.Version)

I am getting this error: Type 'System.Management.ManagementClass' is not defined. The statement is: Dim diskClass As New System.Management.ManagementClass("Win32_LogicalDisk") According to the help file, this 'System.Management.ManagementClass' is under System.Object, so I put in the Imports System.Object in namespace, but that seems not to help.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
