If nobody has a quick answer I'll go to the PIL list, but I'm having
problems with PIL JPEG support on Windows, and figured someone on c.l.py
might have solved this problem.
I built the Cygwin PIL from source, and that works a treat.
Unfortunately the Windows version (1.1.4 and 1.1.5b1) loaded using
binary installers is giving
File "/c/steve/website/hpgraphics.py", line 23, in ?
File "C:\Python23\Lib\site-packages\PIL\ImageFont.py",...

I have multi-page tiff files. I need to extract individual frames from the
multi-page tiffs and save them as single-page tiffs. 95% of the time I
receive multi-page tiffs containing 1 or more black and white CCITT4
compressed files (frames) inside the tiff. Every now and then I receive a
mixture of black and white CCITT4 and JPEG compressed files, and sometimes
just multi-page tiffs with JPEG only. The code runs great when dealing with
the...

Hi
Wonder if someone has some words of wisdom.
I have a access 2002 form that contains 2 graph objects that overlay each
other and would like to export them as a JPEG to use in a presentation. I
can do this individually for each graph but this does not help me as I need
both on the same JPEG. I thought I would try an export the form that
contains both but I am having trouble. (My VBA is self taught and a little
knowledge is...

In my need to decode a JPEG 2000 file, I discovered like many that
there was no functionality for this in the .NET Framework. Instead of
forking out a pile of cash to do this, I came up with the idea that
costs nothing and it is inheritently built into the Framework. So here
is the solution...
When you use the WebRequest and WebResponse classes to obtain graphics
from a web site, these classes have built-in decoding for JPEG 2000
files....

Hi
I've spent a good majority of my day trying to figure out how to have
PIL 1.1.5 working on my OSX 10.3.9_PPC machine. I'm still stuck and I
have not gotten anywhere. Could somebody please help me...
I've scoured all the documentation, google, and mailing lists to no
avail. I believe the problem may lay in a jpeglib problem with OSX
10.3.9, or a python paths problem.

Howdy,
I have a simple file uploader in a form, and I take the image and check for
the file extension. Now I when upload a jpg image in FireFox the content
type is image/jpeg. When I upload the SAME EXACT file from the same location
using Internet Explorer it registers as a image/pjpeg. My understanding is
that IE translates it to a progressive jpeg and FF doesn't care. Any
speacial reason why? Can I avoid this in the script so it treats...

I am attempting to add a function to an application I am working on to

I can retrieve the JPEG Comment with no problem. The problem is

using the Image.FromFile method.
I convert the Text property of a TextBox to a byte array with code

Hi,
I need to know the compression type of jpeg (jpg) files. I am using the
System.Drawing.Imaging and loading the file using an Image object. The
next thing i do, is to examine the propertyItems property of the object
which gives me an ID, a type and Value. I am able to check for an ID of
259 (259 is the compression id) for Tiff images and check the value
upper and lower significant bits of the value to see the compression.
But i don't...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
