Removing repeated terms - please help...

Hi,

I have a row of soundex words of the form:

soundexA soundexB soundexC soundexD etc

I want to parse the field and remove any repeated terms. Can anyone
help me please? I want to use the most efficient/fastest method
possible as I have a column with several thousand of such rows to go
through etc...
Any suggestions/comments/code-samples/ideas much appreciated...

Thank you,
Al.

fastest? in terms of coding, sort and compare next in memory assuming you
have enough RAM
failing that, use dictionary ( a lot more overhead)

Hi, I have a list of integers. At each iteration, I remove some element from it and then insert new elements in it. The order of elements is not important. So I guess I could use a vector also for this purpose. However, I am also interested in having no duplicacy in elements of the vector. So I do not want to have any integer repeated more than once in the list. One very naive approach could be to compare the new integer being added to...

Hi, I start a new thread about a discussion from yesterday (or for some of us this morning). It was a not so nice discussion about dynamically removing controls from a panel or what ever. It started by an example from me, that was far from complete and with typing errors, but basically it had the meaning to show that removing controls reversible was the nicest method. This was a lets say conclusion (but what is that in a newsgroup) in a...

According to MSDN, removing elements invalidates only those iterators that had specifically pointed at the removed elements. But I tried following codes, and find that without the repeated it=map_.begin(); there will be memory violation. So, the iterator IS invalidated even if it's not the removed one. why? -----------

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
