Ahem. Greetings

Hello, I'd like to introduce myself and make sure I'm in the best forum.
I'm currently studying VB .NET to prepare for the 70-306 certification
exam. I am definitely not new to programming, not completely new to VB,
but pretty new to .NET. Is this group the best place to ask questions
when I'm stuck as to how to proceed on programming questions, and learn
the better ways of handling basic tasks? I'm glad to see this group is
pretty active.

Cheers,

This is an excellent newsgroup in which to ask your vb.net questions.
However be aware that there are other newsgroup under the
microsoft.publi c.dotnet namespace that at times may be a more useful place
to post your questions..... *.framework, *.aspnet and *.winforms being the
ones i use the most.

Hello. I am currently working through a book on Dreamweaver and using PHP. I am having a little trouble with setting up the database though. I have php 4.2.3 and MySQL 4.0.20a. I am running locally with Apache 1.3.27 on Windows XP Pro. I seem to have finally got MySQL running after a lot of difficulty. In the book it says to type source C:\mysql\newland_tours.sql at the mysql> prompt, to generate the newland_tours database in my...

I'm developing a multiple forms application in Microsoft Visual Studio C++ .NET 2003. I have a problems with graphics: I draw my diagrams in a pictureBox using its paint event and using the Invalidate() function to call it. It works very well. What I need now is drawing (for example) a rectangle over this image (the diagrams) and afterwards (with a click button, for example) erase it again. But my diagrams in the background must continue...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
