I am an ASP.NET/VB.NET developer that needs to develop a VB.NET winform
application. Any books you can recommend for the newest, 2005, version of
VB.NET?
I need to know what all the toolbox controls do, how to deploy/update the
application, etc...
Thanks! 5 915

Hi .
I have experience in VB6 . Recently , I started learning (independently)
VB.NET , under the Beta 1 version of VS2005 .
However , there are not many books about VB2005 : VB2005 isn't completed
yet .
Would I buy a book about VB.NET 2003 ? and if yes , which book/s is/are
recommended ,
and what are the advantages/disadvantages of each of the books ?

Hi,
I am planning on purchasing VS2005 to learn C# very soon, and I need good
book recommendations. I realize this is a question that may be asked a lot,
but please consider my background:
I have been a ClassicVB/ASP programmer for about 7 years. I have never done
anything with .NET and only have a very basic understanding of the platform.
Recently, I started working on a large JAVA project at my job (even though I
have very little...

I am looking to learn more of Visual Basic .Net and was wondering if anyone
could recommend a good book ?
I have done a lot of programming on Visual Basic 6, so I would like to
crossover my knowledge to .Net.
I was looking at Mastering Visual Basic .NET by Evangelos Petroutsos because
I have used his other books from VB5 and VB 6 and they were outstanding.
But any recommendations are greatly appreciated.

I'm looking for a few additional volunteers to help with preliminary review
of a new book I'm writing on Visual Basic 2005.
You will be asked to read about 25 chapters (each 25-35 pages) and to
respond to them within a few days of their posting (that is a very demanding
requirement). I'm looking for feedback on issues such as "does this make
sense" and "does this cover the topic" rahter than punctuation...

Hi all,
I have an issue with which I need your advice.
I am an MCSD.NET on VS 2003 and would like to learn VS 2005 now (or
more specifically VB 2005). (Yes, it's late, but better late than
never) Please recommend some books which
will help me to *quickly* come up to speed with the 2005 edition.
I do not want books that start out by teaching you programming, or a VS

Hi.
I'm looking for some recommendations for Visual Basic 2005 books.
Specifically, I'm NOT looking for books that detail the elements of
the language, nor explain OOP, but rather present real-world scenarios
for application development, and show how classes/components can be
developed together to form the overall application.
As an example, I already have a copy of Wrox's "ASP.NET 2.0 Website

I'm looking for advice here, and I would really appreciate it if you
could help.
Is there a VB 2005 book that you like and would recommend (and why)?
Would you consider it good for beginners to programming, intermediate,
or advanced level?

I'm trying to use Visual Basic Express 2005 and it appears I have to learn
VB.net. (I have a little experience with VB 4).
The Balena book "Programming VB.NET ver. 2003 looks the most interesting to
me but it might be out-of-date with the 2005 software. Suggestions?

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
