I found a "weird" problem running windows 2003 Server. Maybe it's a know problem but I just wanted to make sure everyone knows. When running explorer to find the directories on my hard disk. It's very, very fast with the exception of 1 folder. I know it's an accident but it happens to be the JDK folder. I could reproduce this stupid behavior on different boxes running 2003 server. Does anyone knows that "virus" from Microsoft...

Hello All, I have been researching newsgroups and knowledgebase all morning and not found a solution that would solve the problem I have. I am having an ASP or ASPX web page that implement a counter functionality and read/insert some data in a MS Access database on that Windows 2003 server. The weird part is, as long as the web page is very short in size, I can hit the refresh button and Internet Explorer will reload the page and display...

:I Created a Pocket PC application for iPAQ 5450. Every thing went fine even installer creation. I could run the setup and install it into the actual device and worked fine. The application enables syncronization with remote database using merge replication. I found contradictory results while installing the application. I will mention here all the steps that I done while creating and installing setups. Result: Case 1: worked fine. ...

Hi, Does anyone know why starting with VS.NET 2002 (and same with 2003) it is no longer possible to browse to a directory that has "ept" as part of the path? It worked fine in Vc 6.x. My initials and user name happen to be "ept", and so I have directories with that name. It is no longer possible to browse to any subfolder and therefore open any file under an "ept" directory. I can browse to such a folder using explorer and then drag a...

It said Dataset, Datareader and some other things are not defined. So I entered the : Imports Microsoft.ApplicationBlocks.Data Imports system Imports system.data Imports System.Data.SqlClient

I'm having a credentialing problem in my web application. Actually, I don't think this is an IIS security issue, since I'm able to access the page I'm requesting. However, the executing page itself is not able to access a specific network resource and I just can't figure out why. First of all, let me say this worked fine with IIS running on Win2000 Server. This has not worked since I upgraded to Windows Server 2003. My Platform: Windows...

I need to access some data on a server. I can access it directly using UNC (i.e. \\ComputerName\ShareName\Path\FileName) or using a mapped network drive resource (S:\Path\FileName). Here is my problem: my vb.net program has problems with UNC. If the UNC server is restarted or goes off-line, my VB.net program crashes. The code for UNC access to the file is included below and is put in the tick event of a form timer control running every...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
