I wanted to enable double buffering for my list view control to avoid
flicker when adding or removing new records, so I subclassed it. However, I
just plain don't get ANYTHING displayed after enabling double buffering. Is
there more to this functionality than meets the eye?

Since no one else knew how to do this I sat here all morning experimenting
with this and this is what I came up with... Its an example of how to get a
list of items back from a virtual mode list view in .NET 2.0 with multiple
selection turned on... since the .NET documentation is EXTREAML vague on how
to do this and offers no clue on what the virtual mode events do or how to
use them... just thought this might help someone else out...

Here is another virtual mode example for the .NET 2.0 framework while
working with the list view. Since you can not access the items collection of
the list view you need to do sorting another way... here is my code on how I
did it to help anyone starting out get an idea of how to use virtual mode in
..NET 2.0

I notice in VB 2005 that I can set a form to be double-buffered just by
setting that option to true in the Form properties. I have a panel on
that form but there doesn't appear to be a double-buffered property for
the panel control.
My first question: is the double buffering set on the form inherited by
the panel control or do I have to do the old fashioned manual
double-buffering with the panel?
I've noticed that animation I render...

Hi everyone,
I've developed a couple of asp.net1.1 websites and these are viewable
using my mobile phone. I've now moved over to asp.net2 and i'm unable
to view asp.net2 websites on my phone. I've stripped a page down to
only output HTML4.01 and a single line of text with no formatting and
it's still not viewable.
Can anyone help me - i don't want to develop a asp.net2 mobile website
- i want to develop a standard asp.net2 website that...

(repost!)
I have a simple and common scenario. I'm developing pages in VWD and FTP-ing
them over to a test servr running Window 2003, NET2 Framework. On my page,
I have a DDL that causes a postback and executes a sub when the value has
changed. For some reason, it just quit working. I get a js error in IE6
(but NOT in FF 1.5) and gives me a vague error about:
'event' is null or not an object.Line X, character X.

I'm looking for thoughts on the "correct" design for this problem (DotNet
2.0 - in winforms, but that's not so important). I've got two combo boxes
(combo1 and combo2), both are populating via database calls (using a
separate DB handler class). "combo1" contains a list of countries and is
fairly static, it can be added to but no other external events cause a
change in its population. "combo2" however is populated with a list of
options...

Rubber Banding in Net2.0
Is there any functionality built into Net2.0 for Rubber Banding (selection
by click, drag and release) on the Control based classes such as the Pane
class or other classes hosting work surfaces? Ideally after selection it
would return a collection of the controls inside the selected area
(textboxes, labels, buttons, etc).

Hi,
I have a odd but a known question about listbox. I know listbox
control can provide multi-select, multi-extendend selections. But i
wonder if this selection type belongs to them or it has another
tecnique.
As you may know, in softwares like Windows Media Player or Winamp
playlist has a listbox and it can be selected in 2 types. First type
refers to player's own selection and second selection type can be done
by user to look for...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
